About Sashakt Scholarship For Girls Offered By Dr Reddy’s Foundation 2026-2027

Sashakt Scholarship is a one-of-its-kind initiative to encourage young women across India to prepare for and pursue a career in science. It provides a level playing ground to girl students, especially from rural India and low socio-economic backgrounds, to get access to quality education in some of India’s best science institutions by offering financial support and mentorship throughout their undergraduate studies.

1. The scholarship covers three years of studies towards earning a B.Sc./B.Tech/MBBS degree.

2. With a lead woman scientists as mentor, the scholars are guided through the crucial stages of their education, apart from having a role model for a career in science.

3. Limited scholarships available, for students securing admissions in any of the listed colleges.

4. The scholarship award is Rs 2,40,000 (Rs 80,000/year) for three years of study, which covers the college tuition fees, study expenses and basic living costs.

Dr Reddy’s Foundation is a not-for-profit organization set up in 1996 to enable socially and economically vulnerable groups to take control of their lives. We develop and test innovative solutions to address complex social problems and promote the scaling up of impact by leveraging partnerships. We work with Children, Youth (including persons with disabilities), Women and Households across 18 States in India.

Bright, young girls with a record of academic excellence, confident of getting admission in India’s best science colleges, can apply as soon as they complete their Class XII examinations.

Students who opt to study B.Tech., M.B.B.S. and natural/ pure sciences in B.Sc. will be eligible for this scholarship.

Preference will be given to students with rural backgrounds, economically weak backgrounds and interest in scientific research.

IMPORTANT: The scholarship will be given only to students who have confirmed admissions to any of the colleges listed.

Scholarship Registrations will begin on 1 June 2026.

The last date for application submission with admission offer will be 31 Oct 2026, by which time all the listed colleges will have announced their final list of admissions. You need to have a confirmed admission offer in any one of the colleges. Admission slips will need to be submitted.
