National Talent Search Examination, 2018 For Students Studying in Class X

National Means cum Merit Scholarship Examination,(NMMS) 2018 For Students Studying in Class VIII

Directorate of Educational Research & Training, Meghalaya Shillong invites application from eligible candidates for National Talent Search (NTS) State Level Screening Test for Class X and National Means-cum- Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) Examination for Class VIII which will be conducted on 3rd November, 2018.

Last date for submission of Application Forms is on or before 28th September, 2018.

Eligibility to appear at the Examination:

1. National Talent Search(NTS) State Level Screening Test:

• Candidates currently studying in Class X in any recognized Schools.
• NMMSS Awardees are also allowed to appear for NTS Examination.
• Interested Candidates can apply for the Examination.

2. National-Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination:

• Candidates currently reading in Class VIII in Government, Government Aided and Local Body Schools.
• Candidates should have scored at least 55% (50% for SC/ST) marks in Class VII Promotion Examination.
• Candidates studying in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodayas and Residential Schools run by Central and State Government are not entitled for scholarship under NMMS Scheme.
• Parental Annual Income from all sources should not exceed Rs.1,50,000/- (Rupees One Lakhs Fifty Thousand) only.
• MHRD has enhanced the rate of Scholarship from Rs.6000/- to Rs.12,000/- per annum

Application Forms containing instructions can be downloaded from DERT website www.megeducation.gov.in or contact the Office of the District School Education Officer (DSEO) or Sub Divisional School Education Officer (SDSEO) of respective District /Sub-division.

Complete filled in Application Forms along with the following supporting documents should be submitted to the respective DSEOs/SDSEOs and NOT TO PERT SHILLONG:

• Two Passport size (School uniform)
• Mark Sheet/ Report Card,
• SC/ST Certificate,
• Disability Status Certificates (for both NTS & NMMS) from Competent Authority and
• Income Certificates (for NMMSS only) are to be submitted to the DSEO/ SDSEO of the respective District/Sub-division.

Application forms without supporting Documents and incomplete information will be rejected.
