A large number of database systems have been evolved over a past few years, many of them gained so much importance as they address to the increased demand for processing gigantic data. NoSQL databases are distributed, non-relational, open source and are horizontally scalable (in linear way).The underlying structure of a NoSQL database differs from a relational database in many aspects. However, which technology will lead the future generation databases is still unanswered and is under constant debate across various technical communities. The purpose of this session is to discuss the advantages, disadvantages, shortcoming and future of NoSQL databases compared to the ever existing SQL based relational databases.
