About University of Sydney Humanitarian High Achiever Scholarship

Eligibility Check

* Applicants must hold asylum seeker status in Australia including one of the following Australian visas (or equivalent) at the time of application:

– Bridging Visa E or A (and has made an application for a Protection Visa),
– Temporary Protection Visa (Subclass 785), or
– Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (Subclass 790).

* Applicant will be enrolled as an international student as defined by Higher Education Support Act 2003

* Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 program (or equivalent) in the year prior commencement of study at the University of Sydney.

* Applicants must have been living in Australia for a minimum of 12 months prior to commencement of study at the University of Sydney.

* Applicants must be commencing in an undergraduate award course of up to 4 years (the approved course) at the University of Sydney in the fields of STEM, architecture, commerce (excluding economics), or pharmacy.

* Applicants must not have previously undertaken tertiary education in Australia regardless of the graduation status of the degree.

Humanitarian High Achiever Scholarship

Established in 2019 by an anonymous donation, this Scholarship aims to assist students of asylum seeker status commencing studies at the University of Sydney.
