About NIT Jalandhar

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar (erstwhile REC Jalandhar), was established in the year 1987 and attained the status of National Institute of Technology on October 17, 2002. As National Institute of Technology, the Institute has the responsibility of providing high quality technical education in Engineering and Technology to produce competent technical manpower for the country. The Institute offers B. Tech. programs in various disciplines of Engineering and Technology along with the research programs leading to M. Sc., M. Tech. and Ph. D. degrees.

About Department of Physics

Department of Physics was established in the year 1989, in the very first year of inception of the then
“Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Regional Engineering College, Jalandhar”, to provide the basic Physics inputs to the B. Tech. students of all the disciplines. M. Tech. (PartTime) in Material Science and Technology was also started in the year 2001. With upgradation of Regional Engineering College, Jalandhar to National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar (Deemed University), the courses offered to B. Tech/M. Tech. programmes were revised in accordance with the stipulations made in National Institute of Technology, rules, 2002. Department has started M. Sc. Physics Programme from the academic session i.e. Aug 2006-2007. M. Sc. Physics programme comprises of courses belonging to wide range of fields of Physical science and a dissertation work in the last semester which traines and motivates students
to pursue career in the field of research and development. The department of Physics has expertise in condensed matter physics, nuclear and radiation physics, plasma physics and high energy physics. Faculties are working both in experimental and theoretical physics.

Registration

1. Registration Fee: | 1 500 for faculty and 1 000 for students.

2. The registration fee should to be submitted in the form of a demand draft (DD) in favour of
“Director, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar NIT, Jalandhar” payable at “Jalandhar.”

Other details

1. Participants should bring their own laptops.Softwares will be provided by the organizers.

2. Limited numbers of seats are available.

3. A limited number of rooms with shared accommodation (on chargeable basis) in Hostels are available at NIT Jalandhar.

4. Accommodation will be arranged (depending on availability) on request on first come first serve basis
