Workshop & FDP on Linguistic Discourse on Origin & Development of Hindi Language at Pondicherry University March 11-15

About the National Workshop cum Faculty Development Programme:

The National workshop cum FDP concerns the history, textual sources, philosophies, issues, challenges,
methodology, traditional as well as modern tools and techniques of the Research to map the scientific
structure of Hindi language in the light of Apabhramsa literature in general and Awadhi and Braj in
particular.It will be a dedicated attempt in producing a scientific research outputfor developing linguistic theories of Hindi language by re-claiming pasts for tackling contemporary issues and challenges of Hindi and re-visioning future of aforementioned language through manifested key takeaways of this workshop.It will examine various methods of the research in cumulativeoriental and occidental dimensions so that international standard level of articles and books, can be produced by the participant scholars and faculty members

Objectives:

The current Workshop cum FD Paims:

To explore science of Research and its Methodology inlinguistic evolution of Hindi.
To develop skill for making innovative linguistic theories.
To discourse on linguistic structure of Hindi.
To train scholars in order to undertake research in application oriented areas.
To conduct comparative studies on grammatical features of Apabhramsa, Awadhi and Braj.
To explore tools and techniques of Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary research for holistic
understanding of Apabhramsa, Early modern vernacular languages and Modern Hindi.
To brief outline of Research Trends in Linguistics.
To motivate and provide training for digitizing the Apabhramsa texts
To impart skills of Tagging the Digital texts
To debate on Ethical approach of the research, standards, impact factors and various metrics.

12. Word structure: Sources of lexicon and vocabulary
13. Digitizing the texts of Apabhramsa works
14. Tagging and examining the digitized texts of RamacharitManas, Pauma Chariu for Apabhramsa

Call for papers:

1. The organizing committee invites research papers based on themes outlined for the technical
sessions of the Workshop cum FDP. The Paper should be original and should not have been
published or presented any where earlier. Interested participants must submit the softcopy of
the ABSTRACT (Within 200-250 words) in the MS Word Format, to the Convener not later
than 8th March, 2020.
2. Maximum length of the full paper may be up to 5000 words.

manuscript thoroughly

Accommodation:

No accommodation will be provided by the organising institution / organising committee. However
assistance for the accommodation will be provided to the registered participants. Participants have to
make the payment to the Guest House / Hotel / Hostel for their accommodation.

There are many Guest Houses related to Aurobindo Ashram. Details of some Guest Houses furnished here for information. Participants may directly book their accommodation and pay the rent amount to the Guest House.

Note:

Only a limited number of participants as may be decided by the Organizing Committee will be called for participation in the Workshop.
