PURPOSE OF THE COURSE

Water supply schemes are a basic necessity of every town/city. With growing concerns over managing urban water demands along with resource sustainability, concept of efficient and smart urban water supply systems is progressively getting more importance. Incorporation of sustainable design and operation principles based on innovative technologies such as cost effective design and treatment solutions, automated supervisory controls,leakage detection and control etc. into water supply systems improve efficiency of water supply schemes. This course aims to discuss the technical aspects of modern systems for drinking water distribution in integrated way. The course will cover topics on traditional aspects of demand calculations and source selections to the efficient network design tools etc. The course will also provide insight to smart water supply systems, execution and financial aspects of water supply scheme.

COURSE CONTENTS

• Features and elements of a water distribution systems
•  Hydraulics of pipe network design
• Software for network design and analysis
• Automation and financial aspects in water supply
• Execution of water supply scheme
• Hands on practice on pipe networking software

The course will ne useful to field engineers of Govt. departments and Private practitioner, PG and research students.

FACULTY

The expert/faculty from industry, fields and IITs/NITs will be invited to deliver lectures.

No accommodation is available for the participants in the institute campus.
