Workshop on Effective Writing Skills for Business Audiences at ISB Hyderabad Apr 18
About the ISB
ISB Hyderabad is organizing a One day Workshop on Effective Writing Skills for Business Audiences on April 18, 2020.
This one-day workshop is meant to introduce the participants to the formats of writing such as case studies, business articles, reports and white papers that are relevant to and popular with business audiences. In this workshop, you will learn how to adapt your writing style to suit various formats and audiences, along with guidance on how to improve your writing to be effective and impactful.
Outcomes
- Learn formats tailored to business audiences
- Hands-on writing exercises
- Feedback to make your writing clear and coherent
On successful completion of the workshop, which includes timely submission of the assigned writing exercises, participants would receive a certificate of completion from ISB. In addition, based on an assessment of the quality of writing exercises submitted, the top five participants would also be considered for writing positions at ISB.

- Dr. Philip C Zerrillo, Professor of Marketing Strategy (Practice) and Deputy Dean, Corporate and International Relations, Indian School of Business.
- Geetika Shah, Associate Director – Content Development and Training at the Centre for Learning and Management Practice at ISB.
Target Audience
This is an advanced course meant for participants who meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Formal qualification in journalism/ mass communications / English language major
- Post-graduate or equivalent program in the Social Sciences, Economics or Management field (with a penchant for writing and wanting to move to full-time writing as a career)
- Work experience in writing positions (between 2-4 years)
- PhDs and Doctoral students seeking to add to their writing and communication skills
Registration
- Workshop fees: INR 5,000 (Inclusive of GST)
- The fee covers all workshop material, coffee breaks, and luncheons.
- Participants are expected to cover their own transportation and other living costs.

Before the workshop:
As this is meant to be an advanced course, we expect that participants who apply should have some basic level writing skills. As part of the application process, we will evaluate the applicant’s writing before registering them for participation. As such, interested applicants would be requested to share a copy of their resume along with any samples of recent writing that they can provide.

- Feedback to make your writing clear and coherent
At the end of the workshop:
On successful completion of the workshop, which includes timely submission of the assigned writing exercises, participants would receive a certificate of completion from ISB.
