The Department of Production Engineering is well equipped with adequate hardware and software facilities. The department offers programmes to develop engineers with strong foundation on basic
sciences, materials, manufacturing processes, tooling and manufacturing system to provide cost
effective solutions with the power of CAD/CAE/CAM, information technology, internet of things and virtual reality for the problems faced by industries.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

 

The two days workshop will play a key role in developing skills in the field of design for manufacturing and assembly. Participants will be able to gain knowledge in fundamentals of geometric tolerances, application and inspection methods. Topics planned (but are not limited to) for the program includes,

 

  • Introduction to geometric tolerances.
  • Geometric tolerance application in engineering drawing.
  • Geometric tolerance inspection methods.
  • Demonstration of measuring geometric features using CMM.

 

 

ELIGIBILITY

 

 

Two days workshop is designed for faculty members, research scholars and students from engineering colleges approved by AICTE, universities, professional institutes and for industry personnel.

 

 

OBJECTIVES

 

The main objectives of this programme are to

 

  • Introduce the concept of geometric tolerances and its applications in engineering.
  • Inculcate the participants with the knowledge on geometric tolerance controls in engineering drawing.
  • Expose the participants to modern inspection methods to measure geometric tolerances.
  • Provide hands on training in inspection of geometric tolerances using CMM.

 

ABOUT THE RESOURCE PERSON

 

Mr.M.Krishnamoorthy,Senior DIrector, Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association (IMTMA), Bangalore. Priorly, he has worked in ISRO Satellite Centre, Bangalore in the field of precision machining of satellite on–board components. After ISRO, he was with Perfect Moulds and UMS technologies as a specialist in Tool Planning, Production and Technical Training in CAD/CAM/CAE.

REGISTRATION

 

Filled up registration form is to be submitted to the coordinator(s) along with the DD for registration fee drawn in favour of “PSG CNCE” payable at Coimbatore. Selection will be based strictly on first come first serve basis. Faculty, Research scholars, students and Industry Participants (Inclusive of GST 18%) : Rs.1,200/-
