ABOUT AFA

AFA Academy, which has been started in Coimbatore, is the first one & there is no other academy like this. This academy has been started by the two well-trained professionals who are one of the standard people in the field of animation and fine arts. And we people are sure that this academy would be brought well standard in the future. This AFA Academy would be well developed because the faculty and owner would be the same ones. This is the only institute in Tamilnadu , We are teaching Basic Drawing for all courses. Because basic drawing is the foundation for all . If you have good drawing and basic 2d knowledge you can deliver excellent 3d works. So 2d is added advantage for 3d animator.

The success of Cartoon network in India has given a sprit to the animation industry. Interestingly, even Cartoon Network is now looking at locally developed content. The channel is said to premiere two feature length 3D animation shows titled ‘Pandavas – The five warriors’ and Sinbad – Beyond the veil of mist’. And recently HANUMAN. Indian companies have made both these animation pictures. Apart from the local market, India is fast emerging as an important destination for outsourcing assignments from the global studios such as Walt Disney Pictures and Cartoon Network. Although most Indian production houses still earn their bread and butter from low-end projects, some of the top companies are slowly but surely moving up the value chain. The Indian advertising industry has actually pioneered the use of animation in India. And advertisements are increasingly using animation to capture viewer’s imagination. Also animations are touted to be the next big thing on the high-end game technology. This has a huge market globally, requiring both software and animation (creative skills).

ABOUT COURSES

The offered courses are 2D animation, 3D animation, multimedia and fine arts. This would be taught to an international level so that the students would be trained for international companies. And we help the well and good students for their job opportunities and we have the contact with the top-level companies. The courses are starting from 3 ? months to 2 years courses. The students who are interested in doing their one-year and two-years courses, they should undergo a project. The AFA academy would help them to join an international company for their project. And this would be the highlight of the company because no other company is offering such kind of help. For each batch 5 students would be selected and this would be a good chance for the students to train themselves and to develop their mind. And the faculty would also be able to concentrate on each student for the development. And there would be 2 hours classes each batch. So it would be easy for the part time workers, the other working people and for the college students. And we prefer the students who are interested in it and the lab facilities would be good for all the interested students.

OPPORTUNITIES

Students after finishing the course can be employed within the film, the special effects, the games, the independent film and the computer industry etc.,. Within each of these areas, job titles may include Background Artists, Character Designers, Key fame / In-between Animators, Editors, Scriptwriters, Surfacers, Directors, Visual Engineers, Idea Developers, Researchers, Scene Designers, Character and Back ground Developers, Storyboard Artists, Layout Artists, Ink and Painters, Clean-up people, Compositors, Programmers, Environmental Artists, Layout Artists, Modelers, and Riggers. Students will also be equipped to start their own business or be independent filmmakers. The main feature of this academy is that all the international standard animation and fine arts books are there for their reference. And there are some good DVD’s for their movie studies. And there are some experienced professionals would be visiting the academy now and then for clearance. And there would be outdoor study in some of the production studios. This visiting would be for the students for their well developing knowledge. And the main feature is that we are arranging some campus interviews with some main production companies so that the students are able to join as soon as they finish their studies.
