National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), established in 1958, with headquarters at Nagpur and six Zonal Laboratories across the country, is one of the constituent laboratories of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), the premier
multidiscipline R&D organization in India. The institute is engaged in Research & Development in the areas of Environmental (Air, Water and Land) Monitoring : Environmental Biotechnology; Solid and Hazardous Waste Management; Environmental System Design, Modelling & Optimization; Environmental Impact & Risk Assessment ; and Environmental Policy Analysis.
NEERI invites applications for Five (5) dynamic and motivated "RESEARCH INTERNS" under CSIR Diamond Jubilee Research Interns Awards Scheme.
This gives an opportunity to:
* Work on modern state-of-art R&D facilities.
* Imbibe the spirit of R & D by jostling with role models.
* Gain from knowledge & experience of accomplished scientists.
* Develop capabilities in R&D related issues such as IP management research planniing and marketing of knowledge, S&T HRD, etc.
* Train Inter-laboratory research in Inter-disciplinary area of science and engineeriing.
No.of Position : 5 (numbers may vary) ( One post of Env.Sci.for Mumbai Zonal Laboratory)
Tenure : Maximum 2 years ( Subject to performance review every six months)
Age Limit: 25 years as on 14.03.2005 ( Relaxable upto 5 years in case of SC/ST/OBC, Physically Handicapped & Female candidates)
Stipend : Rs.7,500/- (Fixed) per month
Leave: Upto 30 days in a year
Accommodation : As per availability and CSIR norms
Eligibility :
* 1st Class or equivalent GPA in MSc.,( Organic Chemistry / Env.Science/Molecular Biology / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology)
* 1st class or equivalent GPA in B.E./B.Tech ( Computer Sci/Env.Engineering).

The appointment of interns is not a regular engagement, and would therefore, not confer any right / claim implicit or explicit for consideration for regularization / absorption against any NEERI / CSIR post. Interns will be reveiewed on continuous basis. In case performance is found to be not satisfactory, the internship will be terminated with one month;s notice.
