About NIT Rourkela

National Institute of Technology Rourkela (NITR),formerly Regional Engineering College Rourkela (REC Rourkela), is a publicly funded premier institute of higher learning for engineering, science and technology located in the steel city of Rourkela, Odisha, India. It is ranked 16th in the NIRF Rankings 2019 of Indian engineering universities. The institute is about 7 km from the railway station. The closest domestic airport to Rourkela is Jharsuguda at a distance of 130 Km (well connected to Rourkela by the express way – taxi travel from the airport to NITR is around 2.00 hours). The International airports at Bhubaneswar and Ranchi are at a distance of 328 Km and 170 Km respectively

ABOUT ROURKELA CITY

Rourkela is a planned city located in the northern part of Odisha, India. It is the third-largest Urban Agglomeration in Odisha. It is surrounded by a range of hills and encircled by rivers – Koel, Sankha and Brahmani. The city is also popularly known as Ispat Nagar and also as the Steel City of Odisha. It has one of the largest steel plants of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) known as Rourkela Steel Plant. The city has been selected as the smart city in the third phase of smart city list on 20 September 2016.

Scope and Objective of the Conference

The conference intends to provide a platform to water resources professional, academicians and young researchers to discuss and share their ideas. The conference mainly aims at providing a forum for the dissemination of recent contributions from academicians, scientists, researchers, practitioners and consultants in the fields of hydraulics, hydrology, water resources and costal engineering.

About Indian Society for hydraulics (ISH) The Indian Society for Hydraulics (ISH) is a technical, educational, non-profiteering national organisation, established in 1992 to serve as a common platform for engineers, scientists and technical personnel working in hydraulics and other allied fields. ISH helps technical personnel stay abreast with the latest development in hydraulics by organising regular meets, seminars gatherings and symposiums. The body also makes it a point to recognise outstanding achievements in
the field, by giving away awards to the deserving. The ISH headquarters are located at Central Power and Research Station in Khadakwasla, Pune. The conference is being organised under the aegis of the Indian Society for Hydraulics.
