Entrance Examination 2007

The Entrance Examinations for Admission to BE/ B. Sc (Ag) and B. Sc (Horti.) Programmes of the Annamalai University for the year 2007-2008 are scheduled to be conducted by the University.

Appearing for the Entrance Examination is compulsory for candidates seeking Admission to these Programmes. These Entrance Examinations are for the Candidates of Tamil Nadu and for those who satisfy the Nativity / Domicile requirements specified by the University for Admission to these Programmes.

The notification relates only to the Entrance Examinations. Candidates are advised to refer to separate Notification which will be issued during Third Week of May 2007 by the University inviting Applications for Admission to the various Programmes.

Selection to various Programmes will be governed by the procedures laid down by the University.

Programmes Offered:

Engineering: BE. Civil / Civil & Structural / Mechanical / Manufacturing/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Chemical Engineering/ Computer Science & Engineering/ Information Technology and Electronics & Communication.

Agriculture: B. Sc Agriculture / B. Sc Horticulture

General Instructions:

Candidates who are appearing for Higher Secondary OR Equivalent Qualifying Examinations during March ? May 2007 and Candidates who have already passed H. Sc OR other Equivalent Qualifying Examinations are eligible to apply for these Entrance Examinations.

The Entrance Examinations will be conducted in the following Scheduled and Subject**

Paper 1: Biology (Botany & Zoology): 14.05.2007 (Forenoon)

Paper 2: Physical Sciences (Physics & Chemistry): 14.05.2007 (Afternoon)

Paper 3: Mathematics: 15.05.2007 (Forenoon)

** Questions for the above Examinations will be based only on the Syllabi and Text Books prescribed for the Second Year of the Tamil Nadu H. Sc Examinations, with weightage of marks 200 and 100 respectively.

The Tamilnadu SC/ST Candidates desirous of obtaining the Application Forms at the concessional rates should submit a Certificate obtained from the Head of the Institution last studied/ studying in the format given below.

Issue of Application Forms: 09.04.2007

Last of date for Issue and receipt of Application Forms: 30.04.2007

Method of Payment:

Application forms can be obtained In Person by Cash payment at the University Cash Counter on all working Days. (Holidays: All Saturday, Sunday and other Government Holidays).

To get Application forms by Post the candidate should send a requisition letter along with a Demand Draft for Rs.400/- (Except SC/ST candidates). For SC/ST candidates they have to send a requisition letter along with a Demand Draft for Rs.200/- along with a Certificate as specified above. The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of The Registrar, Annamalai University, Annamalainagar ? 608 002 obtained on OR after 09.04.2007 from any Bank payable at Chennai and a self-addressed Kraft Envelope of Size 35 cm15 cm with Stamps affixed to the value of Rs.15/-.

Candidates are advised to write their Name and Address on the reverse side of the Demand Draft.

Application forms will be sent only by Ordinary Post and the University will not be held responsible for non-receipt of Application forms.

Note:

Please quote the Reference Number of the Notification in the top of the Request letter without fail.
