Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), the academic wing of Maya Entertainment Limited (MEL), has announced its ?Creative Reward Scholarship 2008? to help meritorious students pursue animation study.
The scholarships are awarded annually to students (up to 100 per cent) based on a creativity test followed by an interview. The creativity test comprises of basic questions and exercises used to measure creative quotients internationally, said a company release.
Announcing the creativity rewards scholarship, Aruna Kumar, VP and Zonal Head , South, said it was an effort to recognized and foster meritorious students and help meet the industry demands for trained animation manpower.
There is scope for pursuing animation as a career stream, with the industry slated to touch $15 Billion by 2008 in India and $75 Billion by 2009 by globally, according to NASSCOM reports.
It offers a broad canvas of opportunities in broadcasting, films, gaming, publishing, infotainment, adfilms, music videos, architecture, interactive education and the like.
