What is Grand Challenge : Smart Embedded Applications & IoT?

Grand Challenge: Smart Embedded Applications & loT is a project-contest to encourage Embedded engineers to solve real-world challenges applying the right solutions. The contest aims at orienting minds towards identifying real world problems and developing technology solutions which are cost effective and sustainable. This is organized in association with 6th Int'l Symp. on Embedded computing & system Design (ISED 2016) and co-located event first Int'l Conf. on Cyber-physical Systems, Networking and Applications.

We invite original ideas in following topics (non-exclusive): Embedded Applications; loT- Designs and circuits; Embedded sensing and actuating; Architectures and software solutions for loT; Big Data search and predictive analytics; Embedded applications in the loT; Smart solutions to real world applications; Novel data collection and sensing; loT security solutions.

Eligibility : Anyone can participate (individual or group with maximum 4 members)

How will I participate?

Submissionsare invited in the following manner:

You have to submit two page write up which contains title & extended abstract of the solution/idea. Submit to with subject: "Grand Challenge 2016" along with affiliation, full contact address, phone, and contact e-mail address. Short listed candidates will be invited for prelims (presentation and demo). For prelims the following methods are allowed: Presentation at III Patna, via skype or video submission. You can choose any one of the three. There is a registration fee of Rs. 1000 (for regular participants) and Rs 500 (for students). The finals will be held atlIT Patna.

Important Dates?

Deadline for the E-mail submission; 15 th September 2016.

Prelims: Lastweekof November2016.

Finals: Second Week of December 2016.

About IIT Patna: Indian Institute of Technology Patna is one of the new IITs established by an Act of Parliament in 2008. The city of Patna, the capital of the State of Bihar, has historical significance. It was a knowledge centre in the past which attracted visitors and scholars from many places all around the world. Some of the historical legends from this region include Lord Gautam Buddha, Lord Mahavir, Guru Govind Singh, the famous astronomer Aryabhata and the first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. Currently IIT Patna has been ranked as the 10th best engineering college (according to NIRF, MHRD, Government of India)
