About Video Contest for the Department of Fisheries

Fisheries is a traditional occupation, especially in the coastal regions and fishers, including fishermen and fisherwomen, are the nucleus/epicenter of all activities in the sector. With new schemes and initiatives, Fisheries are gaining popularity as a primary source of income, and the lives of fisherfolks are improving.

The Department of Fisheries, Government of India is organizing a Video Making Competition through the MyGov portal to recognize the work and create awareness amongst the masses about the hardships fishers folks go through to earn their living and fulfil basic daily necessities.

Eligibility Criteria:

• The contest is open to all Indian citizens.

• Entry can be as an individual or a team (maximum five members) with ONLY one entry as acceptable. In case of multiple entries, the first entry submitted will be regarded as the final submission.

Rewards:

Cash Prizes will be awarded to the winners and a certificate of participation by the Ministry.

First prize: Rs 5,000/-
Second prize: Rs 3,000/-
Third prize: Rs 2,000/-
