DISCOVERING NEW TALENTS AND BUDDING POETS OF INDIA

Wingword awards 5 Lakh Rupees in prizes each year. Poets of all styles are celebrated, and prizes also include ways to support poets’ development: book publishing and public recognition. We are now accepting new submissions for Wingword Poetry Competition 2026 and the prizes are mentioned below.

Grand Prize: ₹50,000 + Book Publication

Second Prize: ₹30,000

Third Prize: ₹20,000

Top 10 Winners: ₹10,000

100 Commendable Mentions will be published in a best-selling anthology

Guaranteed Certificate of Participation given to each poet who sends his/ her work.

Rules

1. Only Indian citizens and persons of Indian origin are eligible to enter.

2. The competition is open to anyone who is 15 years old and above. Children who are between 7-14 years old can apply in Junior Category.

3. Poems must be originally written by the applicant.

4. We accept poems written in English or Hindi.

5. If you write in Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Assamese and Gujarati, you can apply in Regional Category.

6. Any length and style of poetry is welcome.

7. Poems on any subject are accepted. Our poets are encouraged to take inspiration from wherever they may find it.

8. Entry fee is INR 1000 for one poem, INR 2000 for three poems and INR 3000 for five poems.

9. We encourage participants to submit more poems, as it increases the likelihood of winning. Each poem is considered as an individual entry.

10. Beginners are encouraged to participate.

11. Early deadline is July 31st 2026, 11.59 PM.

12. This is an online writing competition. Performance is not required anywhere. Submission has to be made online through our website.
