The BCom programme provides a strong foundation level understanding of the functioning of business organizations, commercial transactions and various specialized operations such as accounting, finance, marketing and human resource by offering a comprehensive curriculum.
The three year BCom degree programme is divided into six semesters and is designed as per the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) model curriculum prescribed by UGC. It includes core papers,discipline specific electives, generic electives and skill enhancement courses. Discipline specific electives offered in the fifth and the sixth semesters are in the following streams: Human Resource & Marketing Management, Banking & Insurance and Accounting & Finance. Students are required to undertake a micro project during the final semester.
Students are also required to complete two inter-disciplinary open elective courses in diverse disciplines [Humanities / Sciences] during the first two years of the BCom programme after regular class hours. Successful completion of two such courses is mandatory for obtaining the BCom degree. Each open elective course will enable students to earn two extra credits.
1. To provide a strong foundation and understanding of the functioning of business organizations, commercial transactions and business management.
2. To develop knowledge and skills in Accounting, Finance, Banking and Insurance, Marketing, Human Resources, Taxation, etc. by adopting learner centered pedagogical practices.
3. To develop competency in students to pursue higher level programmes such as CA, CWA, ACS, MBA or other Masters’ Programmes in Commerce / Management.
4. To enhance practical knowledge and employability through real-time competitions, projects and internships.
The Bachelor of Commerce programme’s objective is to develop graduates who exemplify the graduate attributes of CHRIST (Deemed to be University). The programme aims to equip students with necessary knowledge, skills and other attributes so as to prepare them for participating in any modern business environment, practice in any commercial profession and to pursue further academic endeavours. Graduates of this degree will be able to demonstrate their skills in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Investments, Banking, Insurance, Marketing, Human resource management and Organizational Behavior along with the knowledge of quantitative techniques and other major theories of Economics associated with these subjects. The graduates will be able to demonstrate their communication and literary skills in English and other Indian languages. The Curricular and Extracurricular activities are designed in a way so as to provide for Holistic development of an individual.
1. Strong curriculum bridging the gap between theory and practice.
2. Dual specializations in the area of Finance and Investment, Banking and Insurance and Marketing and Human Resource Management.
3. Optional CISI, UK- IOC certification and CMA, USA – IMA professional certifications.
4. Co-curricular/Extra-curricular programmes on a regular basis.
5. Four – Six weeks Summer Internship in the industry
6. Micro projects and NGO projects
7. The BCom programme gives a total of 140 credits at the end of three years.
8. Opportunity for a one semester student exchange program in the USA / France /Netherlands (specified universities)
9. Weekly activities and competitions by the CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Commerce Association (CUCA) to kindle interests in different disciplines of commerce (HR, PR, Marketing, Entrepreneurial Development, Finance. Best Manager Etc.)
10. The CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Festing Association gives interested students an opportunity to represent the department in station and outstation fests organized by other colleges.
Regular classroom lectures shall be accompanied by any other method the instructors find suitable to deliver better learning. Some suggested methods are;

Pass in class 12 (10+2) is the minimum eligibility for applying / admission.
Students pursuing International curriculum must note that eligibility is according to AIU stipulations:
Applicants pursuing IB curriculum must have 3 HL and 3 SL with 24 credits.
Applicants pursuing GCE / Edexcel must have a minimum of 3 A levels grade not less than C.
There will be an online Internet Based Entrance Test on 7 JUNE 2020. Shortlisted candidates (based on the Entrance Test cutoff) will be intimated about the Personal Interview and Micro Presentation date and time through their registered email id and SMS. The Personal Interview and Micro Presentation will be scheduled from 8 JUNE 2020, 9:00AM onwards.
* Only candidates who have uploaded the caste/category certificate will be considered under the caste reservation quota.
*BCom Regular Programme classes are held from 9.00 AM to 4.00 PM. Students applying to BCom shall give an undertaking that, they do not intend to pursue CA programme (The new pattern of CA programme enables article ship immediately after the CPT and hence students cannot attend the regular BCom classes).
Applicants may apply for the programme from 8 December, 2019 (NRI applicants opting for selection process in Kuwait/Dubai/Doha will be able to apply from 1 October, 2019) when applications will be available online on the University website till the date applications will officially close.
All applicants must visit the page: https://appstat.christuniversity.in and register by entering NAME (as printed on Class 10 Marks Card), EMAIL-ID and set a password. (The email id and mobile number provided will be used for sending confirmation and application status-update messages). An applicant can apply for as many programmes using the same ID as long as the prescribed eligibility criteria for the specific programme is fulfilled.
Applications can be filled online prior to the declaration of class XII results and saved. Class XII marks can be entered only after verification of self-attested internet printout of the XII results of 2020.
Online mode: To fill and submit application using online mode, log on to our website www.christuniversity.in and click on “Admissions”, proceed to click on the Application Status followed by appstat link: https://appstat.christuniversity.in/. In the confirmation page click, on ‘Applications’ and click on the preferred programme.
Direct mode: Application forms will be available at Office of Admission, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Central Block, Hosur Road, Bengaluru – 560029. To fill and submit application using offline mode, log on to our website www.christuniversity.in and click on “Admissions”, proceed to click on the Application Status followed by appstat link: https://appstat.christuniversity.in/ In the confirmation page click, on ‘Applications’ and click on the preferred programme. Choose offline application and enter the Application No., which is printed on the top left corner of this page, and the Receipt No. printed on the receipt.
a) To fill the application you must have a copy of statement of marks of Class 10, Class 12 (Can be entered only after results are declared) (Mandatory).
b) Fill-in all the details in the “detailed application” page. Scan and upload recent passport size photograph (3.5 cms x 4.5 cms formal dress with white background) and click “Submit”. On clicking Submit, a viewable and editable page will appear on screen. In case you need to make any corrections you may edit the data/details and then click “Confirm Submission”.
c) Make payment using card and after successful payment click on submit. A 9 (Nine) digit Application number will be generated. If unable to print the application form due to system/power/internet failure, logon to https://appstat.christuniversity.in, under the “Application Status” page enter the registered Email-ID and password to view and print the application form. (After payment if you do not receive the 9 (Nine) digit application number, then your application process is incomplete and payment will go in for refund process. The refund will take about 15 days and must be checked with your bank).
Candidates must submit the filled-in application forms along with the supporting documents (duly self attested) within 3 days of the declaration of Karnataka PUC/ISC/CBSE results of 2020 in person / Parents / Guardian. Applications not submitted to the Office of Admissions within 3 days from the declaration of class XII results (Karnataka PUC/CBSE/ISC) will not be considered for the merit list. Other Boards whose results may be declared after the above mentioned Boards will be considered subject to availability of seats.

b] Candidates applying under PIO or OCI have to produce the copy of PIO or OCI card whichever is applicable (Mandatory).
After processing the Application Forms, the cut off percentage will be declared and displayed on the University notice board/University website. No postal/telephonic/ e-mail communication will be given from the University. The University does not authorize any individual or organization to operate on its behalf.
