Description of the fellowship:

ALC India’s Transforming India Initiative provides a platform through which entrepreneurs and enterprises are equipped to discover, dream, design and develop. The two-year full time program helps the youth of India to explore social entrepreneurship and fulfill their potential. We equip the seekers with the skills, mindsets and ecosystem support to establish responsible enterprises that will address the most pressing challenges facing India today.

The course aims to mould individuals who want to start their own social enterprises or become intrapreneurs in existing social enterprises and fill the much needed talent void in the development sector.

Andragogy:

Most conventional MBA programs lay extensive emphasis on theoretical learning and students spend most part of the two years in a classroom. Only a small portion of the two years is spent on ground in an internship.

As opposed to this, ‘seekers’ (students) of our TII SEP program, spend only 6 of the 24 months in class and spend the rest, i.e. 18 months with a partner enterprise working on a new social initiative for the partner enterprise.

They lead an entrepreneurial initiative in the social enterprise by setting up a new vertical or scaling up an existing project. The CXO, AL Group team and industry mentors create a support ecosystem for the seeker to achieve this challenge.

The program also includes spaces for exposure and theoretical proficiency- with 6 travel workshops across India, 30 social enterprise interactions, 20 practitioners taught courses and project-based assessments.

The curriculum is delivered by industry experts and practitioners who mentor the seekers during their program journey.

Program involves a stipend of INR 16,000 per month for the time duration of practicum.

The seekers leave the program with inspiration, relationships, advice, learnings, and connections that they can count on for the rest of their lives. At the end of the program, the seekers are supported with seed funding, incubation support or placement opportunity, and ecosystem of support based on the path chosen by an individual.

Eligibility:

The minimum requirement for the Program is a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Scholarships:

Applicants can apply for 100% scholarship at the time of admission.

Benefits

• At the end of the program, the seekers are awarded with Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Social Entrepreneurship by Tata Institute of Social Sciences(TISS).
• For the six months Facilitated Learning, seekers receive a certificate from Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA)
• Scholarships: The program cost is INR 6.9Lacs. On this, they offer up to 100% scholarship as well.
• Stipend:
o During Facilitated Learning, they get industry experts to take sessions on their campus.

o The food and accommodation for these 6 months are taken care of by them.
o During the 18 months of practicum, they provide a stipend of INR 16,000 for expenses.
o Travel to their campus. during the program is taken care of by the organization.

• Post Program Support

o After completion of the program, seekers get to choose the path they want to take.
o Seekers who pursue entrepreneurship are supported with seed funding, incubation support and mentoring.
