Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) invites applications for the post of Research Associate-I in a DRDO sponsored project on “Damage mitigation strategies for buried structures in different geological media under propagation of blast waves from near field explosion”.

Position Details:

* Essential Qualification: PhD (awarded/submitted) in Civil Engineering with specialization in Geotechnical Engineering/ Soil Dynamics; Work experience of writing codes on MATLAB.

* Desirable Qualification: Prior experience of working on topics related to underground structures and blast loading, and with numerical simulations based on finite difference computer programs.

* Duration of Post: Twenty two months from November 23, 2021

* No. of posts: Two

* Consolidated Salary: Rs. 47000/- per month + HRA as per IIT Kanpur norms

* The post is purely temporary and on contractual basis, and is for the duration of one year and ten months from November 23, 2021.

Selection:

The selection committee approved by IIT Kanpur reserves the right to fix suitable criteria for shortlisting of eligible candidates satisfying qualifications and experience. Short listed candidates will be informed with an email about the date of interview (online). If shortlisted, copies of relevant certificates will be required, and be checked against original certificates at the time of interview.

Job Responsibilities:

The candidate must carry out research work, planning and execution of project related activities, prepare report and presentations.
