Software Engineering Research Centre (SERC) Advertisement for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) positions

Applications are invited for Two (02), purely temporary, positions in the research project “Development of Security Search Engine”, funded by Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi. Initially, the appointment will be made for one year/ duration of the project.

Area of Work

The growth of IT and internet is leading to cyber attacks, however, lack of Security Search Engine is making users refer multiple sites for security information. We are building Security Information Retrieval and Extraction eNgine (SIREN), a search engine for ’Information and Cyber Security’ with coverage across the subdomains of security.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

* Literature reviews
* Build prototypes using web application stacks
* Develop and deploy components and applications (as needed)
* Security Analytics

Position and Qualification

Name of the position: Junior Research Fellow (02 No) (CODE: DST_SERC_JRF)

Educational Qualification – MS/MTech in Computer Science or related discipline preferred. Bachelors with 2+ years of work experience in software development will be considered. Candidate must have good coding skills and must have some knowledge in Application Security. Any experience in working in a research set up is a plus.

Salary: For both JRF posts, salary will be Rs.25,000/- per month (subject to revision)

The candidates selected for the position of JRF will have the option to register for the PhD program at IIIT Hyderabad. However, for admission to the PhD program at IIIT Hyderabad, the candidate must meet eligibility requirements and follow due process to get admission.

a) IIITH reserves the right to fix suitable criteria for short-listing of eligible candidates

b) IIITH will have the right to apply any screening criteria in case large numbers of applications are received.

c) IIITH also reserves right for not selecting any candidate/offering lower post in case candidates are not found suitable for the advertised post.
