Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Junior Research Fellow in a DST funded project in the Computational Biology Laboratory of Dr. Shijulal Nelson Sathi at Bio-innovation Centre, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, KINFRA Campus, Kazhakuttom, Thiruvananthapuram.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate must have B.Tech or MSc in Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics with demonstrable programming skills in Python and R. Candidates who are not proficient in computer programming are not encouraged to apply.

AGE

Below 28 years as on September 18, 2019. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.

EMOLUMENTS

Rs. 25,000 + 20% HRA per month for M.Sc. Degree holders who have qualified at NET/GATE (with valid certificate). Candidates who do not have NET/GATE certification will be eligible for Rs. 12,000/- + 20% HRA per month.

DURATION

One year (extendable based on the performance)

SELECTION PROCESS

Suitably qualified candidates may send applications in the prescribed format with a photograph, a copy of full resume indicating the percentage of Marks obtained and attested photocopies of credentials & experience to reach the undersigned on or before September 18, 2019. Envelopes must be superscripted with abbreviated title of the project, advertisement number and job title. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project. Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply and will be called for interview. In the event of more than 10 candidates being short-listed by screening the applications, a written test will be conducted before the selection interview and only those who are successful in the written test will be interviewed.

No TA/DA/Other emoluments will be given for appearing in the written test/interview.
