Name of Fellowship VISHLESAN-CHANAKYA POST DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP

Eligibility

Applicant with PhD degree with excellent ideas and working experience relevant to National Mission on Speech, Video and Text Analytics (NM-SVTA). Students who have already availed IIT Patna-SVTA doctoral fellowship with excellent progress will be given preference. The applicant must also have a mentor from IIT (Patna) and the project plan should have been prepared in consultation with the mentor. The project plan must be within the broad theme of NM-SVTA. If selected, the applicant can not avail any other fellowship concurrently.

Duration : 1 year but may be extended up to maximum 2 years based on the performance evaluation.

Age limit : Maximum 35 years (to be relaxed as per Government of India guidelines)

Fellowship : Rs 80,000/- per months* * subjected to change as per DST guidelines and approval of TIH governing body.

Selection procedure:

The applicants will be asked to give a 30 minutes presentation about the proposal and work done in front of the committee constituted by the competent authority. The committee will recommend the selection based on prior research experience and future research plans. Annual/six monthly progress will be evaluated by a committee, and give recommendation about the continuation.

Name of Fellowship VISHLESAN–CHANAKYA DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP

Eligibility

Full time PhD students of IIT Patna selected through regular selection procedure and completed his/her PhD coursework requirement; OR The candidate eligible for PhD program and qualified GATE, NET or equivalent examination (in case does not possess a MTech/ME degree). The student should have excellent ideas and exposure relevant to National Mission on Speech, Video and Text Analytics (NM-SVTA). Students who have already availed IIT (Patna)-SVTA graduate fellowship/post graduate fellowship with excellent progress and continuing the same topic for the PhD will be given preference. The applicant must also have a mentor from IIT Patna and the project plan should have been prepared in consultation with the mentor. The project plan must be within the broad theme of NM-SVTA. If selected, the applicant can not avail any other fellowship concurrently.

Duration : Initially, for 2 years but may be extended based on the performance evaluation. Matching grant will be arranged by sustainable means.

Fellowship : Rs. 35,000/- per month for 1st and 2nd Year * subjected to change as per DST guidelines and approval of TIH governing body

Selection procedure:

The applicants will be asked to give a 30 minutes presentation about the proposal and work done in front of the committee constituted by competent authority. The committee will recommend the selected applicant for approval. Annual/six monthly progress will be evaluated by a committee, and give recommendation about the continuation.

The applicant must also have identified a mentor from IIT Patna and the project plan should have been prepared in consultation with the mentor. The project plan must be within the broad theme of “Speech, Video and Text Analytics”. If selected, the applicant can not avail any other fellowship concurrently.

Duration : maximum 24 months

Fellowship : Rs. 15,000/- per months* * subjected to change as per DST guidelines and approval of TIH governing body

Selection procedure: The short-listed applicants will be asked to give a 20 minutes presentation about the proposal and work done in front of a committee.

Performance Indicator : Good quality publication, IP, Technology transfer

Name of Fellowship VISHLESAN -CHANAKYA Under-GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP

Eligibility

B.Tech students of IIT Patna working or wish to work on a topic relevant to National Mission on Speech, Video and Text Analytics (NM-SVTA) and have made significant understanding related to SVTA till 5th Semester of their undergraduate programme. The applicant should have minimum CPI 7.5 after 5 th semester. The applicant must also have identified a mentor from IIT Patna and the project plan should have been prepared in consultation with the mentor. The project plan must be within the broad theme of “Speech, Video and Text Analytics”. If selected, the applicant can not avail any other fellowship concurrently

Duration : Maximum 12 months during 3rd -4th year

Fellowship : Rs. 10,000/- per months* * subjected to change as per DST guidelines and approval of TIH governing body

Other terms and condition : Graduate fellowship is applicable during actual number of months (including summer and winter vacations) student has worked on the project with limit of maximum 10 months of academic year.

Selection procedure: The short-listed applicants will be asked to give a 20 minutes presentation about the proposal in front of the committee constituted by competent authority.
