About the Course

This is a one-year full-time course run autonomously by Deccan Education Society through Fergusson College. The major objective of the course is to impart the micro-skills of counseling and hands-on training in counseling to those students or professionals who wish to pursue their career in the helping field.

Structure of the course

• 4 theory papers (Counseling, Testing, Family Dynamics and Micro-skills)
• Internships
• Training workshops
• Supervised case work

Eligibility: (According to preference)

• M.A. or B.A. with Psychology major
• Graduation with Psychology as one of the subjects
• B.H.Sc. with Child Psychology as the specialization
• M.S.W.
• B.A.M.S. / B.H.M.S.
• Graduates of other disciplines (Minimum 60% marks at Graduation level)

Admission procedure:

• Forms and prospectus available in Office No. 3, Main Building, Fergusson College from May 2017.
• Completed forms to be returned to the department by 30th of June
• Merit list will be put up by 5th of July.
• Personal Interview Schedule will be put up along with the merit list.
• Final list of selected students will be put up. Course begins by the second week of July.
