About the Program

ICFAI was established in 1984 as a not-for-profit society with the broad objective of empowering citizens through world class quality education. The Institute announced its arrival into the Indian education fora by launching a high end, innovative professional program in financial analysis in 1985. The Program was first-of-its-kind in India, aimed at equipping students and working professionals with cuttingedge knowledge in contemporary areas of finance. Since its establishment, ICFAI Group has made a significant mark in the Indian educational field with a pan-Indian network and presence.

The Ph.D Program of the University is, in general a 3-Year program that emphasizes on development of the student’s capacity to conduct original research. The program encourages the student to work independently and also to be able to identify, analyze and solve basic and applied research problems effectively and creatively. The candidates may be admitted on full-time basis or part-time basis. The full-time students are required to work on the campus, while the part-time students may work from their respective work places, but will have to attend contact sessions conducted by the University.

Minimum Period – 3 years; Maximum Period – 6 years

Eligibility

A Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with a least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC’s 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed).

Ph.D Program Structure

The Ph.D Program is spread across six semesters over three Years. The program is organized in four stages, viz., Course Work, Qualifying Examination, Approval of Topic of Research and Supervisor, and Thesis Submission.
