Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT) is a renowned Institution in educational and research in the field of food processing, functioning under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India.

Considering the vital importance of post harvest processing and value addition in India, the institute caters the needs of the country by developing skilled/technical manpower for achieving the targets like sustained food security for all, safe food supply at grass root levels, reduced food losses and economic prosperity of farmers.

Subject Eligibility for M. Tech.

M.Tech. (Food Technology) Food Processing Engineering

Candidate Should have passed a 4 years B.E./B.Tech degree in any of the following discipline like Food Technology/Food Process Engineering /Agricultural Engineering/Agricultural and Food Engineering/Food Technology and Management/ Food Processing and Preservation Technology/Dairy Technology/ Food Science and Technology/Food Processing Technology/Post Harvest Technology/Fisheries Engineering.

M.Tech. (Food Technology) Food Process Technology

Candidate should have passed a 4 years Bachelor’s degree in any of the following discipline like Food Technology/Food Process Engineering /Agricultural Engineering/Agricultural and Food Engineering/Food Technology and Management/ Food Processing and Preservation Technology/Dairy Technology/ Food Science and Technology/Food Processing Technology/Post Harvest Technology/Home Science/Food Science and Nutrition/Food Science and Quality Control/Fisheries Engineering.

M.Tech. (Food Technology) Food Safety & Quality Assurance

Candidate should have passed a 4 year Bachelor’s degree with minimum 60% marks in any of the following discipline like Food Process Technology/Home Science, Food Science and Nutrition/Food Science and Quality Control/Food Process Engineering /Food Processing Technology / Post Harvest Technology, Industrial & Applied Microbiology, Chemistry with the proven knowledge in Food Science.

Subject Eligibility for Ph.D.

Ph.D. (Food Technology) Food Processing Engineering

Should have passed a 4 years bachelors and a 2 years M.E./M.Tech degree in any of the following discipline like Food Technology/Food Process Engineering /Agricultural and Food Engineering / Food Technology and Management/Food Processing and Preservation Technology/Food Science and Technology/Food Processing Technology/ Post Harvest Technology/Agricultural Process Engineering/Food Safety and Quality Assurance/ Processing and Food Engineering

Ph.D. (Food Technology) Food Process Technology

Should have passed a 4 years bachelors and a 2 years M.E./M.Tech. degree in any of the following discipline like Food Technology/Food Science and Technology/Food Safety and Quality Assurance/Food Science and Nutrition/Food Science and Quality Control/Food Process Engineering / Food Processing Technology / Process and Food Engineering/Food Technology and Management.

Doctoral Programmes

Ph.D. (Food Technology) in Food Process Engineering – 3 years (6 semesters)

Should have passed a 4 years bachelors and a 2 years M.E./M.Tech degree in any of the following discipline like Food Technology/Food Process Engineering /Agricultural and Food Engineering / Food Technology and Management/Food Processing and Preservation
Technology/Food Science and Technology/Food Processing Technology/ Post Harvest Technology/Agricultural Process Engineering/Food Safety and Quality Assurance/ Processing and Food Engineering

Ph.D. (Food Technology) in Food Process Technology – 3 years (6 semesters)
