IIIT Guwahati MTech Programmes Admission (CSE & ECE) 2020

About the IIIT Guwahati

IIIT Guwahati invites applications for admission to the M.Tech. programme beginning in August 2020. The disciplines in which these programmes will be offered are Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) (Specialisation: Communication and Signal Processing). Master of Technology (M.Tech) programmes starting in August 2020.

Eligibilty

A candidate should have minimum CPI of either 6.0 in a 10 point scale or 60% of marks in the qualifying degree, fulfilling specific requirements for different categories, as indicated below.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/ Electronics / Electronics and Communication Engineering or Equivalent or MSc(Electronics) or Graduates (AMIETE) from Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.

Relaxation for SC/ST/PwD Candidates

Eligibility criteria will be relaxed by 5% marks or 0.5 CPI for SC/ST/PwD applicants.

Additional Conditions for Candidates Still to Appear in Qualifying Examinations

Candidates still to appear in their qualifying degree examinations may also apply, provided they appear in all their qualifying degree examinations and complete all requirements for their degrees before 31-07-2020. If selected, such candidates shall be admitted provisionally, and they will have to furnish the results of their qualifying degree examinations latest by 30-10-2020. Further, they must fulfill the minimum requirements of marks/CPI, and other conditions. Failure to fulfill any of these requirements, shall automatically result in cancellation of admission.

Reservation of Seats

The seats are reserved for SC, ST, OBC (Non-creamy layer) and PwD categories. OBC (Non-creamy layer) candidates will have to enclose a certificate and self-declaration statement as per the prescribed format provided in the application form. The OBC (NCL) Certificate, issued by the competent authority, on or after 01-01-2019, shall only be acceptable.

Fees

When admission is offered and accepted by candidate, the candidates have to pay the fee (details is below) using the online payment facility available on the website.

This is a self-financed course and all students have to pay the full fees as given in table below. Fees are payable before the beginning of every semester. There will be no increase in the fees during the programme even if there is an increase for new students.

No financial support will be provided to the students.

Curriculum

The programme is designed to provide a wide-ranging education in theoretical as well as practical aspects of signal processing and communication engineering. Students are provided in-depth knowledge of core subjects and have the flexibility to choose their subjects of interest from a diverse list of electives which specializes in machine learning, signal and image processing, and microwave systems engineering. The course is aimed to prepare the students for a rewarding career in academics or related research and development industries so that they can contribute new ideas towards the advancement of technologies. The curriculum of M.Tech programme for each semester considers four symbols L,T,P,C which are described as follows.
