About the IIITM Kerala

IIITM Kerala invites applications from meritorious candidates for admissions into the M.Sc & M.Phil courses for the academic session 2020-21.

The Institute has been conducting Post Graduate courses and undertaking Research projects since 2000 in several advanced areas of IT. The institute provides a vibrant research environment supported by highly qualified faculty members, excellent infrastructure and facilities.

M.Sc Program

Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management offers M.Sc. programs in four different specializations:

Cyber Security,
Machine Intelligence,
Data Analytics,
Geospatial Analytics.

The different master’s program offered by the institute aims to impart core competence in Computer science and to equip students to grab a promising career in the IT industry / enable them to peruse a research career.

Eligibility

The entry-level requirement is a minimum score of 60 percentage marks OR CPI/CGPA of 6.5 or above in 10 points in the Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering / Technology / Science with Mathematics as a subject of study.
For Machine Intelligence and Cybersecurity specializations, students are expected to have studied Mathematics during the +2/ pre-university also.
Students are selected through an All India entrance examination followed by counseling.
GATE/NET score holders with a valid score as on 1st April 2020 are exempted from taking the entrance examination.

The final selection of the candidates is done after counseling of the shortlisted candidates based on the written test. The total intake of the students for the MSc program is 130.

M.Phil Programs

Master of Philosophy in various specializations will be a restructured course offered by the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management-Kerala that aims at offering a high standard curriculum in allied disciplines of Computer Science.

At present the M.Phil Programs are being offered in Computer Science and Ecological Informatics.

Qualifications

Qualifying examination/degree for the admission for the M Phil- CS degree course is M. Sc/M C A/ M.Tech in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Electronics/ Computational Sciences/Geo-informatics or equivalent having a minimum of three courses in CS/IT in the qualifying examination with at least 60% aggregate marks, or CGPA of above 6.5 in 10 points, or equivalent on the above-mentioned subjects, OR
M.Sc. in Natural (Botany, Zoology, Environmental Science, Plant Sciences, etc. or Physical (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) Sciences with a score of 60 % marks or above or CGPA of 6.5 or above in 10 points scale in the qualifying examination. SC/ST candidates are eligible for admission if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination. Students who are in the final semester/year can also apply.
