About the IIITM

Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management offers M.Sc. programmes in four different specializations, Cyber Security, Machine Intelligence, Data Analytics and Geospatial Analytics. The different masters programme offered by the institute aims to impart core competence in Computer science and to equip students to grab promising career in IT industry / enable them to peruse a research career. The degree is offered by Cochin University of Science and Technology, Cochin, Kerala, India. The programms focuses on a broad grasp of foundations in Computer Science, deep understanding of the area of specialization, an innovative ability to solve new problems, and a capacity to learn continually and interact with trans-disciplinary groups. The technology enhanced e-learning methodologies with web based course management system and on-line learning system enriches the programme, allow to broaden their horizons.

General eligibility conditions for MSc courses

Entry-level requirement is a minimum score of 60 percentage marks OR CPI/CGPA of 6.5 or above in 10 points in the Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering / Technology / Science with Mathematics as a Subject of study. For Machine Intelligence and Cybersecurity specializations, students are expected to have studied Mathematics during the +2/pre-university also.

A candidate with CGPA less than 6.5 will also be eligible if the equivalent percentage for graduation is above 60% as per the respective university norms for conversion from CGPA to percentage. In such a case, the candidate will have to produce the official document or percentage equivalence certificate from the respective university showing CGPA to percentage conversion norms, at the time of admission. Students who have scored less than 60% in their graduation degree are not eligible for admission to the courses of IIITM-K. Candidates belonging to SC/ST communities are eligible for applying if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination. SEBC candidates of Kerala State who are certified as belonging to non-creamy layer are eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for qualifying examination, provided that the candidates have passed the examination.

Selection Procedure

Students are selected through an All India entrance examination followed by counselling. GATE/NET score holders with a valid score as on 1st April 2020 are exempted from taking the entrance examination. Candidates who have completed graduation with Mathematics as one of the subjects and who come within the top 10% in the rank lists of the CAT conducted by CUSAT in 2020 are also exempted from taking the examination conducted by IIITM-K. The proof of valid scores or inclusion of name in the specified rank list should be produced at the time of counselling.
Reservation of seats for SC/ST, OBC and others will be applicable as per the existing CUSAT rules.
The final selection of the candidates is done after counselling of the shortlisted candidates based on the written test. The total intake of the students for the MSc program is 130.

Course fees

The course fee for Full-time Masters programme is ₹2,00,000/- The fee is payable in equal instalments Scholarships available for SC/ST candidates University fee as per CUSAT norms

M.Phil Programmes

Master of Philosophy in various specializations will be a restructured course offered by the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management-Kerala that aims at offering a high standard curriculum in allied disciplines of Computer Science. The programme focuses on a broad grasp of foundations in Computer Science, deep understanding of the area of specialization, an innovative ability to solve new problems, and a capacity to learn continually and interact with trans-disciplinary groups. The technology enhanced e-learning methodologies with web based course management system and on-line learning system enriches the programme, allow to broaden their horizons.

The degree is awarded by Cochin University of Science & Technology

The number of seats available for both MPhil prgrammes are 15 each.

Eligibility

Qualifying examination/degree for the admission for the M Phil- CS degree course is M. Sc/M C A/ M.Tech in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Electronics/ Computational Sciences/Geo-informatics or equivalent having minimum of three courses in CS/IT in the qualifying examination with at least 60% aggregate marks, or CGPA of above 6.5 in 10 points, or equivalent on the above mentioned subjects.
