About the National Sports University

National Sports University (NSU), set up in 2018 prepares its students to be the future generation of leaders in the area of sports education. NSU welcomes students from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, and help them excel in their chosen fields.

The University offers the following programmes at the undergraduate and postgraduate level for the academic year 2020-’21 to cater to the growing demand of Coaches, Physical Education teachers and Sport Scientist, in schools and other institutions.

UG Programmes

B.Sc. (Sports Coaching): 4 years, 50 seats

Eligibility

The candidate must have passed Higher Secondary (10+ 2 scheme of examination or any other equivalent examination recognized
by the government) with minimum 45% aggregate marks.
The age of the candidate shall be above 17 years at the time of admission. However, the Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor may relax the
minimum age criterion at his/her discretion. The upper age limit for seeking admission to B.Sc. (Sports Coaching) is 23 years of age.
The candidate must have represented the country in Olympics/World Championship/ World Cup/Commonwealth Games/Asian Games/Asia Cup/Asian Championship/ Championship Trophy/SAF Games/World University Games and other championship organized by International Federations / Associations and funded by MYAS / IOA / National Federations/ Associations recognized by the International body of the game.
Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports (BPES): 3 years, 50 seats

M. Sc. (SPORTS COACHING)
Sports: Athletics, Badminton & Football
Duration: 4 Semesters (2 years)
Total seats: 15
Internet Based Proctored Test & Viva: To be announced

Eligibility Criteria:

i. B.Sc Sports Coaching (4 years) / Graduate with Diploma in Sports Coaching /B.P.E.S. with Diploma in Sports Coaching/
B.P.Ed of 4 years or 2 years duration/ any other equivalent qualification with 50% marks.
ii. Sports Participation: Refer to Annexure -A Selection Criteria:
 Internet Based Proctored Test: 100 marks
 Sports Achievement: 30 marks
 Viva: 20 marks

M.A. (SPORTS PSYCHOLOGY)
Duration: 4 Semesters (2 years)
Total seats: 15
Internet Based Proctored Test & Viva : To be announced

Eligibility Criteria:

i. Bachelor’s Degree in B.P.E.S/B.P.Ed./B.A. (Hons.) in Psychology or any Bachelor’s Degree with Psychology/ Sports Psychology
as one of the subjects, with minimum 50% marks.

Selection Criteria:

 Internet Based Proctored Test: 100 marks
 Viva : 30 marks
 Sports Achievement: 20 marks (Refer Annexure-B)
 Desirable: Participation in any games/sports

M.Sc.(Sports Coaching): 2 years, 15 seats
Eligibility

Any individual who possesses Graduate with Diploma-holder in Sports Coaching/B.P.E.S. with diploma in Sports Coaching/ B.Sc. Sports Coaching/B.P.Ed. of 4 years or 2 years duration, with 50% marks.
Sports Participation: One Senior National /All India Intervarsity Participation (Minimum).
M.A. (Sports Psychology): 2 years, 15 seats
Any individual who possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in B.P.Ed./B.A. (Hons) in Psychology or any Bachelor’s Degree with Psychology/ Sports Psychology as one of the subjects, with minimum 50% marks, shall be eligible to apply for this programme.
Desirable: Participation in any games/sports.
