About Sandoz Scholarship 2026

Despite significant progress in medical improvements in recent decades, disparities in global healthcare and access to essential medicines still persist, with billions around the globe still unable to receive the vital medical attention needed. The recent World Health Statistics report has shown that we are off track to achieve at least three significant targets by 2025, including the universal health coverage (UHC), health emergencies preparedness, and healthier populations “Triple Billion” targets. We must act quickly to respond to the changing healthcare landscape and ensure equitable access for all.

At Sandoz, we are committed to advocating for a future where every individual has access to affordable, high-quality medicines. As the world’s leading provider of off-patent medicines, we play a major role in keeping healthcare systems and budgets sustainable. We understand that, in order to close these gaps in care and ensure access to essential treatments for all, it is critical that we embrace innovation and systems-wide solutions.

This is why we’re proud to support the Sandoz Scholarships 2025 in partnership with One Young World, bringing together an interdisciplinary cohort of 5 outstanding young leaders to attend the One Young World Summit in Munich, Germany on 3 – 6 November 2025 as part of the global Sandoz delegation.

The scholarship is intended for young leaders who are tackling systemic barriers to healthcare access or creating innovative solutions to promote equitable access to healthcare and medication in their communities, countries, or the world at large.

Examples of relevant work may include:

* Innovative digital or AI-driven platforms to reach underserved communities with limited physical healthcare or pharmaceutical facilities;

* Cutting-edge supply-chain solutions to distribute essential medications in remote and rural areas;

* Community-based healthcare education and training programmes in underserved communities;

* Advocacy for critical policy changes that make healthcare and medications more affordable and accessible.

Selected Scholars will receive

* Access to the One Young World Summit 2025 in Munich.

* Hotel accommodation in a private room between 2 – 6 November 2025 (inclusive)

* The cost of travel to and from Munich (economy class)

* Catering which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner (provided by the hotel and during the Summit)

* Cost of transportation between airport and hotel via public transport

* Participation in Sandoz-hosted sessions for their delegation in the lead-up to and during the Summit, and a Sandoz “buddy” to enhance networking and engagement.

Eligibility and Selection Critieria

* Aged 18 – 30*.

* Evidenced commitment to delivering positive change

* Demonstrated capacity for leadership

* Understanding of key local and/or global issues

* Track record of generating impactful and innovative solutions to address healthcare disparities or promote universal access to pharmaceuticals. Relevant examples of impact include:

* Innovative digital or AI-driven platforms to reach underserved communities with limited physical healthcare or pharmaceutical facilities;
* Cutting-edge supply-chain solutions to distribute essential medications in remote and rural areas;
* Community-based healthcare education and training programmes in underserved communities;
* Advocacy for critical policy changes that make healthcare and medications more affordable and accessible.

*Most delegates are between the ages of 18 and 30. The One Young World team will consider applications from those who are older than 30, pending demonstration of appropriate personal impact, initiative, and willingness to engage. We are not able to accept applications from those who will be aged under 18 at the time of the Summit.
