About the St. Xavier’s College

St. Xavier’s College is owned and managed by the Jesuits of the Calcutta province of the Society of Jesus. With the registration of Catholic Mission of West Bengal (also known as Calcutta Province of the Society of Jesus) under the Societies Registration Act 1961, the ownership of St. Xavier’s College was vested with this said Society from its registration in 1973, and it was administered by a Governing Body constituted as per statutes of Calcutta University. In May 2005, the Founder Body initiated the registration of a new Society, in the style and name of St. Xavier’s College Kolkata Educational Trust. The administration and management of St. Xavier’s College is now brought under this Trust with effect from 1st June 2006, and the day-to-day administration is vested with the Governing Body, as per guidelines of the UGC for Autonomous Colleges with minority character.

Minimum Marks to Apply:

55% IN B.COM [HONS.] OR BBA/BMS [HONS]
(45% FOR SC / ST/ ROMAN CATHOLIC / CHRISTIAN STUDENTS)

STUDENTS, WHO HAVE SCORED AN AVERAGE OF MINIMUM 55% (45% FOR RESERVED CATEGORIES) IN AGGREGATE IN PART I (Semester I & II) & PART II (Semester III & IV) IN CBCS CURRICULUM OR IN HOUNOURS PAPERS IN PART I (Semester I & II), PART II (Semester III & IV) AND PART III (Semester V & VI) FOR EARLIER CURRICULUM UNDER UNIVERSITY OF CALCUTTA OR ANY UGC APPROVED UNIVERSITY IN INDIA, AND HAVE APPEARED IN PART III (Semester VI) IN 2020 (RESULT PENDING) MAY ALSO APPLY; THE ADMISSION, HOWEVER, SHALL BE PROVISIONAL, SUBJECT TO THE FULFILLMENT OF MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AS MENTIONED ABOVE. STUDENTS PURSUING ACCOUNTING (HONS.) MAY APPLY FOR M. COM (WITH SPECIALISATION IN MARKETING); BUT STUDENTS PURSUING MARKETING (HONS.) CANNOT APPLY FOR M.COM (WITH SPECIALISATION IN ACCOUNTING & FINANCE). NO STUDENT SHALL BE ELIGIBLE FOR ADMISSION AFTER A LAPSE OF MORE THAN FIVE YEARS FROM THE YEAR OF PASSING THE PREVIOUS QUALIFYING EXAMINATION. THE YEAR OF ADMISSION WILL NOT BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT WHILE CALCULATING FIVE YEARS FROM THE YEAR OF PASSING THE PREVIOUS QUALIFYING EXAMINATION. THE APPLICATION PROCESS WILL BE ONLINE THROUGH THE COLLEGE WEBSITE WWW.SXCCAL.EDU AND NO PRINTED / MANUAL FORMS WILL BE AVAILABLE.

• Candidates who have cleared the UG Examination with Honours in the respective subject on or before 2019 will be entering the final marks.
• Candidates who have completed: 2nd year or 4th Semester in 2019 and are awaiting final year / 5th semester examination results

2nd year or 5th Semester in 2019 and are awaiting final year / 6th semester examination results will be entering the accumulative marks till the last examination results.
