About Study in Iraq Program – Scholarships Scheme

The Iraqi ministry of higher education and scientific research/ the department of scholarships& cultural relations is delighted to announce the launch of study and research scholarships scheme funded by the relevant host Iraqi universities. The scholarships target applicants from all over the world who wish to pursue their undergraduate and graduate studies at Iraqi academic institutions, and also the researchers who wish to conduct their research activities in Iraq. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Government of Iraq has launched a new study program ‘Study in Iraq’ on 15 March 2023. The program provides 6837 seats in all levels of study i.e. Advanced Diploma, Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. for foreign students in 47 Iraqi Universities.

The program is divided in 2 categories; 1053 seats are allotted for “self-financed” students and 5784 seats are allotted with full scholarship fees (tuition fess + hostel fees). It may be noted that there is no nomination from the Government of India and selection of recipients of scholarships are done directly by the Government of Iraq. The notice is put up for wider public dissemination of information purpose only.
