TERI School of Advanced Studies’ strength lies in its unique and exciting research and education programmes directed towards enabling and fostering sustainable development. Each programme is multidisciplinary, focusing on students gaining knowledge across a wide spectrum of subjects with emphasis on developing innovative solutions. The best of modern technology supports the students’ intellectual curiosity along with well-equipped laboratories, replete with advanced equipment and facilities to aid and stimulate research. A placement cell results in excellent opportunities in reputed companies. Opportunities exist to conduct research projects at foreign universities. The University programmes are UGC approved.

In its more than decade old existence, TERI SAS has become a centre of research excellence in its field, producing over 1200 post graduates with high-level cross-specialisation skills in environment and sustainability fields as well as nearly 80 PhDs, who have gone on to contribute to society through engagements with corporate-driven CSR initiatives, leading NGOs, government agencies and statutory bodies working in the field and have even become social entrepreneurs. TERI SAS has partnerships with various universities and institutes across the world.

To walk-the-talk, the TERI SAS campus provides a setting which enhances learning and showcases the concept of modern green buildings. The campus is aesthetically designed with several features of passive solar design, energy-efficiency and water and waste management systems. TERI SAS students undergo training and internships with government, multilateral and multinational agencies during as a part of academic curriculum. The deemed university has a placement cell, as employment is considered as an integral part of the system. The cell taps government agencies like Dept. of Environment (Govt. of NCT, Delhi), FAO, multinational companies like ACC, Tata Power, Reliance Energy Ltd., Vedanta, KF International, Ultratech Cement, Canadian Solar, KPMG and multilateral organisations like WWF, Action Aid International etc. for internships and employment programmes.

MSC Programmes

• Applications are invited for MSc programme in Climate Science and Policy

Eligibility: Students holding Bachelor’s degree in following discipline can apply for the program: Science, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology and Geography

• MSc Programme in Environmental Studies & Resource Management

Eligibility: A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, Geography with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 6.75 on a 10 point scale or equivalent, as determined by TERI SAS, wherever letter grades are awarded, or 60% marks in aggregate, wherever marks are awarded. For candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Humanities (e.g. Economics, Geography), a relaxation of 5% / 0.75 Cumulative Grade Point Average could be allowed.

• Applications are invited for MSc programme in Geoinformatics

Eligibility: A Bachelor’s degree in Science/Engineering/B. Arch/ Economics/ Mathematics/ Statistics/Geology/Geography.

• Applications are invited for MSc programme in Plant Biotechnology

Eligibility: A Bachelor’s degree in Sciences/Engineering/Technology.

• Applications are invited for MSc programme in Economics

Eligibility: B.A. (Hons.)/B.Sc. (Hons.) in Economics with 50% or more marks in aggregate (CGPA of 5.65) or Bachelor degree in any other discipline with at least 60% marks in aggregate (CGPA of 6.75). The applicant must have studied mathematics either at 10+2 level or at Bachelor’s level, either as subsidiary or as honours.

• Applications are invited for MSc programme in Water Science and Governance

Eligibility : Graduate (B.Sc/B.A) or equivalent from any branch of Engineering, Environmental Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Geology, Atmospheric Science, Economics, Geography, Zoology, Botany, Anthropology, Agricultural Science.

MBA programmes

• Applications are invited for MBA programmes in Business Sustainability; and Infrastructure

Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with English at 10+2 level. The candidate will be shortlisted based on CAT/MAT/GMAT/CMAT/XAT scores. Candidates who have not appeared for the above exams can take the TERI SAS common entrance test. Candidates with more than 2 years of relevant work experience may be exempted from above depending on the discretion of the selection committee.

MA programme

• Applications are invited for MA programme in Sustainable Development Practice

Eligibility: An undergraduate degree in any discipline, from a recognized institution/university. Candidates with prior experience in development sector would be preferred, although it is not mandatory.

M Tech Programmes

• Applications are invited for M. Tech programme in Renewable Energy Engineering and Management

Eligibility: A Bachelor’s degree in any branch of engineering or MSc with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 6.75 on a 10 point scale or equivalent or 60% marks in aggregate.

• Applications are invited for M. Tech programme in Water Resource Engineering and Management

Eligibility: Graduate or equivalent from any branch of Engineering or Postgraduate or equivalent in Environmental Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry, Geology, Atmospheric Science, Economics, Geography, Agricultural Science with mathematics at 10+2 level.

• Applications are invited for M. Tech programme in Urban Development and Management

Eligibility: A Bachelor’s degree B.E./B. Tech in any branch/discipline, B. Arch., B. Planning, or Masters or equivalent degree in Science.

LLM Programmes

• Applications are invited for LLM programmes in Environment and Natural Resources Law; and Infrastructure and Business Law

Eligibility: A candidate having an LL.B./B.L. Degree from a recognised University/Institution.

MA PPSD

• DoPT sponsored Government candidates
The programme is open to officers of All India Services, Central Services (organized & non-organized, technical & non-technical), faculty members of State Administrative Training Institutes and also officers of the State Civil Services (SCS) & Non-State Civil Services (Non-SCS) subject to the following eligibility conditions:

(i) Length of service: Officers should have completed 5 years of Group ‘A’ service as on commencement of the programme.

(ii) Age: The officers should have at least three years remaining service after completion of the programme.

(iii) Earlier Training: The officers should not have undergone a training Programme of 12 weeks or more duration in India during a period of 5 years preceding the date of commencement of this programme. Further, the officer should not have undergone a Programme of training abroad of more than 2-weeks in preceding 2-years, more than one month in preceding 3-years or more than six months in the preceding 5-years.

Other Candidates: Graduates with a minimum experience of five years in any of the following sectors: government, regulatory bodies, industry, research/academic institutions, NGOs and donor/consultant organizations.
