About the Shiv Nadar University’s

Shiv Nadar University’s eligibility criteria is developed to shortlist candidates with subject knowledge which serves as the foundation for each program. While students are admitted to a specific program, the University offers flexibility to transfer to another program/school in the University after completion of one year in the program (admitted to), subject to policies governing such transfer.

Fulfilling the eligibility criteria is only the first step and does not entitle a candidate to admission. To provide a fair and equal opportunity to every aspirant, Shiv Nadar University normalizes the scores obtained in Class XII to even out the inconsistencies that exist between various Boards of Examinations.

Admissions

WE HAVE UPDATED OUR ADMISSIONS PROCESS TO ENSURE THE SAFETY & HEALTH OF OUR ASPIRANTS AMIDST COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Shiv Nadar University is committed to ensuring that students continue their education without interruption during the exceptional circumstances of COVID-19. At the same time, the safety and health of our students and candidates remain our priority. The rapidly unfolding challenges caused by the spread of COVID-19 have led us to update our admissions process for our undergraduate programs.

The updated Admission process is as follows:

1. Apply Through SAT (College Board) Scores
2. Apply Through Remotely Proctored SNUSAT and APT
3. Apply Through JEE Mains (2020) Scores

Details of the updated process is as follows:

I. Apply Through SAT (College Board) Scores

The prospective candidates can apply through SAT scores in addition to other modes of admissions (but only once). The shortlisted candidates will be informed regarding a personal interview with respective department to be eligible for final selection.

II. Apply Through Remotely Proctored SNUSAT and APT

Candidates can apply through SNUSAT and APT by taking the remotely proctored test – a COVID-SAFE method which will allow you to sit for the test from safety of your home. The shortlisted candidates (after SNUSAT and APT) will be informed regarding their personal interview with respective department to be eligible for final selection. (In Case of School of Engineering, the candidates are not required to appear for an interview.)

III. Apply Through JEE Mains Scores

1. Candidates applying through JEE Mains (January) 2020 score of 80 percentile or above are eligible for direct offer of admission on the basis of
   • JEE Mains (January) 2020 score
   • Cut-off score decided by the University for various Departments of School of Engineering & School of Natural Sciences
2. If the candidate has less than 80 percentile in JEE Mains (January) 2020, they are advised to apply through the remotely proctored SNUSAT & APT tests

The School wise updated admission process is as follows:

School of Engineering

Route 1: JEE Mains (January) 2020 (≥ 80 percentile) – The candidates scoring equal to or more than 80 percentile in JEE (Mains) January 2020 are eligible for direct offer of admissions. However, certain cut-off will be applicable for admission in each department. SNUSAT & APT will be exempted for admissions through this route

Route 2: SNUSAT + APT – The candidates scoring below 80 percentile will have to appear for remote proctored SNUSAT & APT. No interview is required for admissions through this route

Route 3: SAT + Interview* – The candidates can apply through SAT score

* The shortlisted candidates will be informed regarding an interview with respective departments to be eligible for final selection.

School of Natural Sciences

Route 1: JEE Mains (January) 2020 (≥ 80 percentile) + Interview* – The candidates scoring equal to or more than 80 percentile in JEE (Mains) January 2020 are eligible apply.

Route 2: SNUSAT + APT + Interview* – The candidates scoring below 80 percentile in JEE (Mains) January 2020 and without SAT scores will have to appear for the remotely proctored SNUSAT & APT.

Route 3: SAT + Interview* – The candidates can apply through SAT score.

*The Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the online interview in their department(s) of interest(s) to be eligible for final selection.

Please refer to the general guidelines below:

• To ensure the safety of everyone, we will be managing all admissions related processes remotely during the period of the national lockdown.
• We have introduced remote proctoring of our tests (SNUSAT & APT), thus, allowing you to take SNUSAT and APT in the safety of your home. The AI based test will be monitored by a proctor from our testing partner Pearson VUE. The details and process of taking the test will be communicated to the candidates through email (on their registered email ID by April 30, 2020).
• Personal Interviews of the shortlisted candidates will be conducted using online meeting tools only.
• Now domestic candidates can also apply to our undergraduate programs through SAT scores. Those shortlisted will also require to give a personal interview with respective department/departments to be eligible for selection.
• Students are required to add the following in their application form, these might be considered during the review of your candidature
• Class 10 mark sheet
• Class 11 mark sheets/grade sheets,
• Add their Class XII results/JEE (Main) results as and when those become available
• SAT Subject scores (if available)

The admission offers of selected candidates will be provisional in nature and the candidate should meet the eligibility criteria defined by Shiv Nadar University once the Class XII results are declared.
