About the University of Hyderabad

The University offers excellent facilities for Postgraduate, 5-Year Integrated Master’s Degree Courses, and Research Studies in several major areas in the Sciences, (including Medical Sciences, Engineering Sciences & Technology), Humanities, Social Sciences, Performing Arts, Fine Arts, Communication, and Management Studies. Admission to the University is open to all who fulfill the prescribed qualifications without any distinction of race, creed, language or gender. The selection is on the basis of the entrance
examination. The candidate should produce all original certificates at the time of admission. Any student to be eligible for admission to the Postgraduate Degree Courses must have completed a three-year Undergraduate Degree, through an examination conducted by a University/ Autonomous College. However, as a transitory measure, a candidate who has passed a two-year degree course may also be considered for admission, provided she/he has undergone a further one-year bridge course and passed the same.
The minimum eligibility requirements for admission to the above courses are given in a tabular form at the end of this chapter. The eligibility of candidates passing their qualifying examinations from Universities following the letter grading system / CGPA will be determined based on percentage equivalent to the letter grade/CGPA obtained by the candidates according to the conversion formula adopted by the University concerned. In the absence of any such formula, the decision of the University shall be final and binding on the candidates.

CONDITION

The condition is that, in case of their selection to a course in the University, they should submit the certificates of the qualifying degree examination and other earlier examinations positively at the time of completion of the admission. However, the University may give an extension of time up to 31.8.2020 to submit the certificates of the qualifying degree examination. Such candidates will be given conditional admission up to 31.8.2020 only. However, this facility shall not be extended to those who are taking regular or supplementary or improvement examinations of the qualifying degree after 31.07.2020 and waiting for the results. In the event of the concerned students failing  to (i) submit their certificates of the qualifying Degree examination by 31.8.2020, and(ii) not passing the qualifying degree examinations with the prescribed percentage of marks, they will not be allowed to attend classes any further and their Provisional admission stands cancelled forthwith. No request will be entertained for extension of time to submit the certificates under any circumstances beyond 31.8.2020.

RESERVATION OF SEATS

Following the policy of the Government of India and the guidelines of the University Grants Commission, the University has reserved 15% of seats in each course for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and 7.5% for those belonging to the Scheduled Tribes, with a provision for interchangeability between these categories, wherever necessary. Candidates should submit a copy of the certificate of their caste/ tribe from a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar / Mandal Revenue Officer at the time of the interview, admission/counselling. Remedial courses in English and other subjects are conducted for such students depending upon the actual need.

For admission to all Postgraduate Courses, viz., M.A., M.Sc., M.C.A., M.F.A., M.P.A., M.B.A. Courses and 5-Year Integrated Master’s Degree Courses, the minimum eligibility condition for SC/ST/PH candidates is 5% less than the percentage for General/EWS & OBC category, however in order to ensure filling up of all seats for SC and ST, subject to availability of candidates the minimum requirement is “Pass” in the qualifying examination.

How to Apply: 

Application form has to be submitted online from 03 April, 2020 to 30 June, 2020. Before applying online, candidate will be required to have a scanned (digital) image of his/her Photograph (25kb) and signature (10kb). Scanned copy of Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC/EWS applicants.

Application Fees : 

General: 600/-;  EWS : Rs.550/-;  OBC : Rs.400/-;  SC/ST/PWD(PH) : Rs 275/-. Fees once paid cannot be refunded

Pay fees online:

 After filling the online application form, the candidate can pay the fees immediately using ONLINE Paymnet Gateway link provided on the form. You don’t need to have account in SBI (or) ICICI bank to pay Application Fee in respective Payment Gateway. The Application No. & Payment Transaction Number(it will be generated & shown at the time of payment)should be noted car

General Instructions:

I. Application for entrance examination for admission to various courses during 2020-21 is required to be submitted in the prescribed form online, available at http://acad.uohyd.ac.in/ee20.html. A separate application along with application fee is required to be submitted for each course online.
II. Candidates are required to pay the prescribed entrance examination fees (Non refundable) of Rs.600/- (in the case of General Candidates), Rs.550/- (in the case of EWS Candidates) Rs. 400/- (in the case of OBC Candidates) and Rs.275/-(in the case of SC/ST/PWD candidates) through the online payment link provided in the application.
III. Candidates are required to have a valid personal e-mail ID and mobile number. It should be kept active till the completion of the course, if admission is granted. In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create a new e-mail ID before applying online. Candidates are required to have a scanned (digital) image of his/her photograph (200 x 230 pixels), signature (140 x 60 pixels) and caste certificate in case of OBC/EWS/SC/ST candidates.
Note for applicants eligible for OBC Non-Creamy Layer and EWS reservations: Due to the special circumstances in the country, the applicants to avail OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and EWS reservations for admission to the University are directed to upload the valid caste certificate along with the online application. The candidates who require time, due to lockdown in the country, to obtain valid certificate to claim reservation will be permitted to upload/send at least two days before the commencement of the University entrance examinations. In absence of a valid certificate submitted before the entrance examination, the candidate(s) will be considered under UR category and not against the reservation category. University will not entertain further correspondence in this regard, in respect of the applicants who could not submit valid certificates in support of reservation category. Approximately two weeks gap will be given between lifting of the nation-wide lockdown and commencement of University entrance examinations. Candidates are advised to keep all the relevant documents ready for obtaining caste certificate during the lockdown period and plan to obtain and upload
valid certificates immediately after lifting the lockdown. Candidates eligible for OBC Non-Creamy Layer and EWS reservations have to upload valid certificate in Govt. of India format ONLY (as per the earlier instructions) and those who do not possess the valid OBC/EWS certificate may submit their online application without uploading the same. However such candidates will have to obtain the same from the appropriate authorities as soon as the lockdown is lifted, and mail a scanned copy of Caste certificate (along with their Application Number) to entrance@uohyd.ac.in for consideration of their claim. Candidates should retain their Application Number for further reference safely. VI. The list of short listed candidates will be posted on the University Websites only as per the given schedule. No individual communication will be sent to the candidates.

I. The last date to apply is 22rd May, 2020. The online application form and the payment gateway shall cease to function on the midnight of 22rd May, 2020.
II. If a candidate wishes to apply for multiple courses/programmes of study, a separate application form is to be filled online for each course and application fee for each online application is to be paid separately.
