When should you start preparing for IIT-JEE?
If you are a student presently in class VI or class VII we suggest that you focus on improving your analytical skills. Therefore a serious preparation for National Talent Search Exam at the earliest will be a very healthy beginning for IIT-JEE preparation.
For students presently in class VIII
In case success in IIT-JEE is your goal and getting a good rank is your dream, we recommend you to start right from the beginning of class IX, the best time to start preparing. A Four Year program for IIT-JEE preparation is highly recommended.
No doubt the best IIT-JEE preparation, given that there are only two attempts for IIT-JEE, should happen from the very beginning of class IX but it is never too late to give it your best try.
If you are not sure that you would like to go for IIT-JEE or pursue a career in Engineering but wish to create a solid foundation for success in various Competitive Exams like AIIMS, CBSE -AIPMT, other medical Entrance Exams, NDA, any option other than engineering & medical in India or anywhere else in the world, you should still enrol for a program like SUPREME-Four Year Integrated School Program, ASCENT Plus-Two Year Integrated School Program or ASCENT-Two Year Classroom Program which can help you achieve excellent marks in board exams and enhanced analytical skills i.e. substantially improved IQ.
For students presently in class IX, best thing is to focus on improving your creativity in solving problems and lay a strong foundation for IIT-JEE preparation. Even if you change stream (i.e. go for Medical etc. after X) this preparation will help you stand out. And if IIT-JEE is your goal, just focus on IIT-JEE preparation for next 3 years.
In case you are a student presently in class X, best thing for you is to focus on board exams and start preparing for IIT-JEE one or two weeks after the class X Board Exams.
For students presently in class XI -
To be honest, it is difficult to start IIT-JEE preparation from scratch at this stage & succeed with a good rank unless you are a student who has reasonably clear fundamentals of class XI & good analytical skills. You might be able to catch up with those serious brilliant students who have seriously prepared from the very beginning of class XI or earlier. You should start serious IIT-JEE preparation immediately after your class XI school exams.
