About Pratibha Scholarship

Pratibha – The Aditya Birla Group (“Group”) Employees’ Children’s Education Scholarship Plan (“Scholarship”) was started in the year 2004, to provide scholarship for Children’s Professional Education. This scholarship program has completed 13 successful years and in this period, we have received over 2400 applications from across the Businesses in India & Overseas.

Pratibha scholars have graduated from various esteemed Institutes, such as Nanyang Business School, Harvard Business School, Cornell University, University of Wisconsin, Carnegie Mellon University, MIT, Georgia Institute of Technology, Indian Institute of Technology, Indian Institute of Management, Indian School of Business, Manipal University, etc.

This Scholarship is administered at the Group level in terms of eligibility, norms and quantum of pay outs so that we can ensure that the most deserving children are awarded scholarships and process is administered in a fair and equitable manner.

Purpose: The Purpose of the scholarship is to:

Recognize and retain long serving and meritorious employees of the Group

Reach out to the employee beyond work i.e. through his/her family

Eligibility Criteria

The employee as well as the student applying for the scholarship need to meet the criteria outlined below inroder to qualify:

Employee Criteria:

– Should have minimum 10 years of continuous work experience in Group as of 31st August 2018. (For acquired companies, service with the acquired company prior to acquisition would be considered as service with the Group)
– Should be a permanent employee and in JB11 and above defined as Managerial cadre in each business.

Student Criteria:

– Applicant’s age should not be more than 28 years at the time of applying for the scholarship i.e. as on 31st August 2018.
– Applicant should have secured admission for a professional course in a premium/ high-quality institute (top 50 in that country)
(Professional Education includes disciplines like engineering, medicine, management, CA etc.)
– Applicant should have a consistent good academic record.
– Student should be admitted to the proposed course. Waitlisted students are not eligible to apply.

Application Process

Employees can apply by clicking on the “Apply for Fresh Scholarship” tab on the homepage. The online application and option for uploading supporting documents will be open until 31st August 2018.

Evaluation Process

The application will be evaluated by the Group Scholarship Committee (“Committee”) consisting of a distinguished panel of senior members of the Group. The Committee makes a list of the most promising scholars for each category based on the Budgets for the year, the students’ track record and the proposed course of study. The process is unbiased as the employee demographic details and student information are not provided to the Committee.
Equal weightage is assigned to the employee and the student’s overall performance while evaluating each application.
