Reserve Bank Of India - Essay Competition For School Children on Currency Management

To create awareness on Bank Notes and Clean Note policy among school children, Reserve Bank of India, Chennai will be conductiong an essay contest for school children studying in Class VI to XII as detailed below.

The contestants will be dividied into three categories namely, Junior level (Std VI to Std VIII), Middle level (Std IX and Std X) and senior level (Std XI and Std XII).

The topic for junior level will be:

1. "My Story-as narrated by a CURRENCY NOTE"(not eceeding 500 words)

For middle level

2. "CURRENCY NOTE-HANDLE WITH CARE"(not exceeding 1000 words)

For Senior level

3. "COUNTERING THE COUNTERFEIT NOTES"(not exceeding 1500 words)

The Schools may collect all the essays recived from their students and forward them duly sertified to the Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Fort Glacis, No.16, Rajaji Salai, Chennai-600001 superscribing on the envelope "Currency Management-Essay Competition" for evaluation.

The decision of the Bank in this regard will be final.

The last date for receiving the entries will be Decemeber 5, 2008.

cash prizes of Rs 5000/, Rs 3000/, Rs 2000/ will be awarded for the first second and third places in each category.

The children of RBI employees are not eligible to participate in the essay competation.
