The Hindu Young World Painting Competition 2007
Get ready to showcase your talent. Just paint a picture on one of the topics given below, get the painting attested by your Principal or Art teacher and send it to us. If your painting impresses our judges, then you are on your way to the finals.
The Hindu Young World Painting Competition finals will be held at 14 centres.
November 24: Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode
November 25: Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirapalli, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, New Delhi, Bangalore, Mangalore and Mysore.
Preliminary Round - Topics for Juniors (Class IV to VII):
1. You and your computer.
2. At the swimming pool.
3. Visit to a flower garden.
4. Kite-flying at the beach.
Topics for Seniors (Class VIII to X):
1. Boat ride in a river.
2. Train crossing a bridge.
3. Inside a harbour.
4. Helping the handicapped.

Rules and Regulations:
All you have to do is to draw the painting on a white drawing sheet (size 26cms Χ 27 cms) choosing any one of the 4 topics given, get it certified by your principal or Art teacher as your own work, write your name, age, class, school and residential address and send the entry along with two BooProo Liquid filled Bubble Gum Mono-wrappers to any of the addresses given above, which is nearest to your place or where you would like to come for the final painting competition, if selected.
The entries should reach us on or before November 1, 2007.
Entries will be judged at two levels Juniors (Class IV to VII) and Seniors (Class VIII to X).
Selected students will be intimated individually and they should come to the venue (with the intimation letter) at their own cost on the specified date to participate in the finals which will commence at 9 a.m. sharp.
The topic for the finals will be given at the venue.
Judges decision will be final.
The paintings become the sole property of The Hindu and will not be returned.
Prizes will be distributed to the winners the same afternoon at the venue.
Apart from the first, second and third prizes, there will be consolation prizes too.
Every prize winner will receive a gift hamper from Lotte BooProo.
