Applications are invited for the Annual Sahitya Akademi Bhasha Samman carrying a cash prize of Rs.50, 000/- and an inscribed copper plaque from writers, scholars, editors, collectors, lexicographers, researchers or translators who have made significant contribution to the propagation, modernization or enrichment of the languages not recognized by the Sahitya Akademi

This year of the two Awards to be declared, one will be given for contribution to Sourashtra language and literature. The contribution may be creative, critical or academic.
