You've been admitted to UT, now what?
One of the best ways for you to find out about UT Austin is to attend orientation.
- Fall Freshmen and Fall Transfer Students who did not register for classes during the summer may register now for fall orientation. They may also view the fall orientation Fast Facts (pdf) and the fall New Student Guide (pdf).
Student Accounts Receivable
UT Austin's Student Accounts Receivable Office processes payments for your UT bills and serves as an information resource. Student Accounts Receivable can help you with:
- Tuition and fee rates
- Payment due dates
- How to pay
- Payment plans
- Online tuition bills
- Add bills
- Refunds
- Official fee receipts
- Tuition and cash loans
- Exemptions/Waivers (Texas Tomorrow Funds, Valedictorian, Early High School Graduation, etc.)
- What you owe UT

Testing During Orientation
Most entering freshmen are required to take placement tests before they register for certain classes at UT Austin. New freshmen are strongly encouraged to take tests before Summer Orientation when possible. Testing is not offered during Orientation sessions for transfer students. Visit the Measurement and Evaluation Center or telephone 512-232-2662 for details.
Special Arrangements and Accommodations
- For Orientation: If you require accommodations due to a documented disability, contact the Office of the Dean of Students, Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) at (512) 471-6259 or TTY (512) 471-4641, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. for information on the services available to you. SSD assists students with disabilities including hearing impairments, AD/HD, medical conditions, and psychiatric disabilities. Braille copies of orientation publications are available by calling the Office of the Dean of Students, New Student Services, at (512) 471-3304 Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Attendant care is not provided.
- For testing during Orientation: If you need special assistance during orientation testing, contact the Measurement and Evaluation Center at (512) 232-2662 no less than two weeks before your assigned session to make arrangements.

Along with your letter of admittance to UT, you should have received information about Be a Longhorn, a Web site full of tips and resources for incoming students. Be a Longhorn contains plenty of information to help with your transition to UT Austin.
