Applications are invited on plain paper from Indian nationals residing in India for the award of about 32 Scholarships for "Research Studies"
offered by the Government of Japan for the year 2006. No Scholarships will be offered for Post Doctoral Studies (After Ph.D). Two Scholarships are reserved for Japanese Language and Japanese Studies(One each).
The subjects in which scholarships will be awarded are given below.

4. Quality and Reliability Engg.(As applied to various systems like Electricity & Power, Railways, Heavy Industry, Heavy Electronics, Electronics & Communications etc.,)
5. Robotics
6. Laser Technology
7. Ship-Building
8. Bio-technology
9. Biological Oceanography
10. Transportation & Information Systems Engineering
11. Japanese Language and Literature
12. Fisheries
13. Japanese Studies
14. Earthquake Engineering
15. Environmental Science
16. Architecture.
17. Aerospace Engineering
18. Material Science / Engineering
DURATION: One and a half years to two years.
VALUE OF SCHOLARSHIP : Maintenance allowance of 1,75,000 Yen per month (fy 2001), arrival allowance of 25,000 Yen, tution and examination fees exempted, part
of the medical expenses in Japan will be paid. Accommodation will be arranged.
PASSAGE COST:Tourist class air-ticket from India to Japan and back will be provided by the Japanese Government.
AGE LIMIT : Below 35 years as on April 1, 2006
LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION : Candidates should apply for the above scholarship on a plain paper prefereable typed or neatly hand written with a recent passport size photograph, in the prescribed proforma to " The Section officer, ES.3 Section, Department of Secondary & Higher education, A.1/W.3 Curzon Road Barracks, kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi - 110 001 By 7th June 2005. Application can also be submitted online a the Department's Website www.education.nic.in by 10.06.2005. Relevant documents may be furnished by post.
Applications received after 07.06.2005 will not be considered.
