Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) - Admission 2009
Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), was established in 2007 by the Act of Gujarat State Legislature. The University
is promoted by Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) as a unique public-private educational and research initiative.
PDPU, a research-led University aims to be a leading global institution to develop the knowledge of Science, Technology,
Management and Environment for the advancement of quality of life of mankind in general and in relation to the domains of
Gas, Oil and Energy in particular. The University is located at Gandhinagar, spread across 100 acres of land and also has a
residential campus. The university has a strong support and association with Oil, Gas and allied energy industries across the
world.
At present PDPU has three Schools and a Centre in operation which are:
School of Petroleum Management
School of Petroleum Technology
School of Solar Energy
Centre for Good Governance & Policy

School of Modeling & Virtual Reality

School of Petroleum Law & Intellectual Property
The existing Schools offer Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral Programmes. The purpose of the Ph.D Programme is to train
prospective scholars to become highly skilled and innovative researchers, academicians, scholars and teachers in specialized
fields of Science, Technology, Management, Humanities, Arts and Social Science related to the energy sector.
Eligibility and Selection Process
Candidates with a combination of academic excellence, leadership, research potential, individual background, perspective and
the ability to carry out independent investigation and present the results in a dissertation will be preferred. The process
will evaluate all aspects of what the candidate can contribute to the University and the future of education and research in
areas of the energy sector. Eligibility criteria, application form and more details of selection process are available at the

Selected Candidates as per the Ph.D Programme shall be entitled for:
• Research &TeachingAssistantship of Rs. 20,000/- to 25,000/- per month.
• Professional Development Assistantship of Rs. 15,000/- to 20,000/- per annum for knowledge enrichment.
• Professional Development Assistantship upto Rs. 1,00,000/- for presenting research papers at National/ International
conferences.
