Although this facility is in addition to the option of submitting paper applications already available, the prospective candidates are encouraged to prefer online mode of applying for the UPSC Examinations using the link www.upsconline.nic.in If you are a prospective candidate aspiring to apply for the competitive Examination of the UPSC, you have the following distinct advantages in choosing to apply online:-

* An online application requires you to pay only 50% of the fee required otherwise while applying offline. You also save the cost of buying paper application from die Post Office as well as postal charges.

* You can apply in a hassle free manner at the convenience of sitting at your home or at cyber cafe or any other place any lime even during night hours.

* You receive prompt confirmation of your application submitted online.

* You don't run die risk of postal delays.

* You have a lower risk of rejection of your application on account of wrong/incomplete data entry. Reason is simple. Online application system has built-in self-scrutinising features not allowing you to leave any column blank.

* You can pay cash at any Branch of State Bank of India, through a challan generated through the above website.
