RESEARCH POSITIONS IN A DST - FUNDED STUDY PROGRAM

Applications for the following temporary research positions in the Department of Science & Technology (DST, GOvt Of India) funded study program on NEOTECTONICS AND SEISMIC HAZARD ASSESSMENT IN THE KASHMIR VALLEY to be carried out at the Department of Geology & Geophysics , University Of Kashmir. The research positions are co-terminus with the funding for the study program by the DST.

1.Research Associate ( Two positions) with monthly consolidated emoluments of Rs.11,000/- (likely to get HRA & MA as per Kashmir University rules)

Eligibility

For One Position : Ph.D in Geophysics (preferably Seismology Physics, Mathematics, Applied Geology or Geology. Other than good academic and publication record in the subject a candidte with an experience in operating and maintenance of seismological laboratory and/or with a post-doctoral research experience at a reputed lab in seismological studies will be given preference.

For second Position: Ph.D in Geology (preferably in Quaternary Geology, Noetectonics or paleoclimate of the Himalaya. Other than good academic and publication record in the subject, a candidate with experience in paleoseismology and GPS studies will be given preference.

2.Junior Research Fellow (one): with monthly emoluments of Rs.8,000/- plus HRA (@15%) and Rs.100/- as Medical Allowance.

Eligibility:MSc./M.Tech in Geology, Applied Geology or Geophysics with at least 55% marks. A candidate with NET and /or research experience will be prefered.
