National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) is a key functionary of Indian Space Research Organization, striving to realize the Indian Space Vision through Earth Observation. It is responsible for the Ground Segment of Remote Sensing Programme through satellite data acquisition, archival, processing, dissemination, Remote Sensing Applications, Training and Capacity Building. It provides Aerial services in the civilian Sector for the country. The Organization has four Regional Centres at Bangalore, Nagpur, Kolkata and Jodhpur to address region/area specific Remote Sensing application needs. The Earth Station located at Shadnagar, 65 kms from Hyderabad city, is being developed as a full fledged centre to carry out the entire chain of Remote Sensing activities. NRSC is continuously exploring the practical use of Remote Sensing for societal applications through multilevel initiatives, development of value added data services and Remote Sensing Applications.

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates, for the Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs), on temporary basis, for a maximum period of three years.

Age Limit: 18-28 years as on 30.11.2013. SC, ST, OBC, and Persons with Disabilities are eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India rules.

Emoluments:

An amount of Rs.16,000/- per month shall be paid in case of candidates recruited with BE/B.Tech/M.Sc., for the 1st and 2nd years and for the subsequent years Rs.18,000/- per month shall be paid.

In the case of candidates recruited with M.Tech/M.Sc.,(Tech), Rs.18,000/- per month shall be paid for the 1st and 2nd years and for the subsequent years Rs.20,000/- per month shall be paid.

Other benefits:

JRFs are eligible for HRA and medical benefits. The fellowship amount shall be taken as Basic pay for this purpose.

JRFs are eligible only for casual leave. Maternity leave as per Govt. of India instructions would be available to all female JRFs.

Selection Process:

The qualifications prescribed in this advertisement are the minimum requirement and the same does not automatically make candidates eligible to be called for interview. Based on the experience and details of marks obtained by the applicants, the candidates will be shortlisted for interview.

The application format for on-line registration is available in the above website from 1000 hours on 11.11.2013 to 1700 hours on 30.11.2013. One confirmation copy of the web application, duly affixing a recent passport size photograph along with No Objection Certificate from the employer, if applicable may be sent to Administrative Officer, Recruitment & Reviews Section, NRSC, Balanagar, Hyderabad on or before 10.12.2013

Place of Posting:

The JRFs are liable to be be posted at any of the offices of NRSC i.e. Hyderabad/ Bangalore/Nagpur/Kolkata/Jodhpur.

General Conditions:

- NRSC/ISRO reserves the right not to fill up all or any of the fellowships, if it so decides.

The JRFs are purely on temporary basis for a maximum period of three years depending on the duration of the Projects. It may be noted that the JRFs do not carry any claim whatsoever for regular appointments in DOS/ISRO/NRSc.

Candidates called for interview will have to produce all relevant original documents in proof of details furnished in their applications along with a set of attested copies of the testimonials, at the time of interview. In case any information furnished in the application is found to be wrong or false, the candidate will not be interviewed.

Department reserves the right to post the candidates in any of the Centres/Units of the Indian Space Research Organisation/Department of Space situated anywhere in India as and when required.
