National Brain Research Centre offers the following Fellowships / Programmes

1. Research Scientist:

Applications are invited from qualified and exceptionally talented Ph. D. degree holders with ability to carry out Neuroscience Research independently.

Duration: The tenure will be for a period of 3 years (subject to yearly evaluation extendable on year to year basis)

Eligibility: A Ph. D. degree I any branch of Science / Engineering / Maths / Physics / Chemistry / Psychology / with interest in Research in Brain / Neuroscience.

Candidates should be below 35 years of age and can be of any nationality (women candidates are given relaxation up to 5 years in age)

Fellowship: Rs.25, 000/- per month consolidated emoluments

When should you apply?

Applications can be submitted at any time throughout the year. Applicants will be generally informed about the decision on their application within three months, from the date of receipt of application.

2. Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF)*:

Eligibility: A Ph. D. degree in any branch of Science such as Biology / Engineering / Maths / Physics / Chemistry or in any subject related to the general area of Neuroscience including Psychology.

Fellowship: Rs.16, 000/- per month consolidated emoluments

3. Summer Training Programme ? 2007 (STP ? 2007)*:

The Summer Training Programme is open to candidates who are currently in the penultimate year of their degree programme (for example a second year of a three year Bachelors or first year of a two year Master programme). The programme is open to students of all branches of Biology / Maths / Physics / Chemistry / Psychology / Engineering / Computer Science and Medical Sciences or equivalent.

The programme will be conducted for a period of two months between the months of May ? August. The exact starting date can be flexible depending on candidates? convenience but cannot be later than June 15. Selected candidates will be paid a stipend of Rs.1000/- per month and will be provided free accommodation. Candidates will have to bear the cost of travel, meals and other expenses.
