GREEK GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS 2004-2005

Applications (typed and complete in all respet) in duplicate are invited from Indian Nationals residing in India for the award 1 (one) Greek Government Scholarship for a duration of ten months starting from 1st September,2004 to July 1, 2005 in the following 2 (two) subjects for Post-graduate studies or research.

1. Mathematics

2. Political Philosophy / Political Thought.

a) Applicants for Post-graduate studies should have obtained at least a Bachelor's degree with 60% or more marks in aggregate in the related subject as on 15.03.2004.

b) Applicants for research should have obtained atleast a Master's degree with 60% or more marks in aggregate in the related subject as on 15.03.2004

c) Candidates for postgraduate studies in Greece should be fluent in Greek and to have to be admitted to a postgraduate course

d) Candidates for research must be fluent in Greek or English or French.

e) Age : Below 40 years as on 15.03.2004

3. ALLOWANCES TO POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH/SCHOLARS:

A) Monthly subsidy: Fourty four thousand and twenty one (440,21) Euro to postgraduate or research scholars.

B) Lump sum for establishment expenses: Five thousand eight hundred and sixty nine (58,69)Euro for scholars who will reside in Athens and Eight thousand eight hundred and four (88,04) Euro for those who will reside in the province.Scholars whose scholarships is renewed are not entitled to this sum.

C) A lump sum of eight thousand eight hundred and four (88,04) Euro for transport expenses within the country to scholars who have to travel from their place of residence in order to perform the research program approved by the department, provided that there is a justified proposal of the supervising professor.

D) Exemption from tution fees. It is underlined that, in the event that the postgraduate or research scholar wish to attend Greek language Courses, they are not exempt from tution fees, which must be paid to the Modern Greek language College.

E) Free of charge medical care in the event of emergency in public Hospitals only.

Last Date: Applications in duplicate along wiht the following documents must reach to the Ministry of Human Resource Develpoment, Department of Secondary Education & Higher education, ES 5 Section, A-1/W-3 Curzon Road Barracks, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi -110 001 latest by 15.03.2004. Those who are employed must send applications through their employer.
