Applications are invited for admission to 4 semester M.Tech programme of the insitute in the session 2005-2006

M.Tech programme is offered in the Department of Aerospace Engg., Applied Mechanics, Chemical Engg., Civil Engg., Computer Science and Engg., Electrical Engg., Mathematics(Industrial Mathematics and Scientific Computing), Mechanical Engg., Metallurgical and Materials Engg., Ocean Engg., Physics(Solid State Technology).

Qualification : Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology / Architecture or equivalent or a Master's degree in mathematics / physics / Life Sciences or related subjects or Professional qualification like AMIE with valid GATE score.

Candidates graduating from IITs with CGPA of 8.0 and above for General Category and 7.5 and above for SC/ST Category can apply withour GATE Score.

Seats are reserved for SC/ST / Physically Challenged candidates as per GOI rules.

Assistantship: Candidates admitted to M.Tech Programme are offered Half-time Teaching Assistantship(HTTA) of Rs.5000/- p.m. Additional admission to a few candidates may be offered without HTTA. Opportunities exist for a limited number of candidates to carry out M.Tech projects in Germany.

How to apply : Request for application form should be sent along with a Demand Draft for Rs.300/-(Rs.150/- in the case of SC/ST/Physically challenged candidates)drawn on any Nationalised Bank in favour of The Registrar IIT Madras payable at Chennai branch together with two address slips (50mm X 100 mm)with the applicant's address in capital letters, to the Chairman, M.Tech Admission Committee , GATE Office, IIT Madras, Chennai 600 036 as per the schedule given below.
